Yeah, this is spot on. A high-level skill that's NEEDED by the employer should be paid for. If you want all my qualifications, pay me for them.

in my trade- here's how that works. plumbing company offers me some shit wage like $25 an hour. I thank them for their time, then, with my license in hand- I start advertising & bidding jobs. eventually they end up bidding against me- and they ALWAYS lose. I was leaving a jobsite one day, when a competing contractor I used to work for, was on his way in to give a bid. he called me up that evening. "you're making me look like shit!". yah- would've been cheaper to pay me a decent wage huh? I started plumbing professionally in 1988. in all that time, I've only found ONE company that paid me a wage I was willing to accept & stay on with the company. if you're looking for a career, best to find one you can free lance- because your chances of finding one that isn't going to take advantage is very miniscule.

This is not an actual interview they would have rejected her immediately with her attitude. If a company can’t pay your target then leave the offer it happens all the time 5hats why you apply to multiple jobs. No one would say what she said.
