The more I learn about ancient Rome, the more I wish I could have visited it and walked within it during its prime. I rather like the narrated video format!

As said before, it's a lot better with the narration. Not that the other videos were not already great without, but it really adds something and allows to concentrate visually on the masterpiece without being distracted by texts. Well done!

Thank you! Soon I'll add subtitles to this video as well, insteas of auto-generated ones.

I did in May 2023 (3 weeks ago). I agree, it is beautiful. Tip for future visitors: if you don't have advance tickets, you can purchase at the door but bring Euros. No cards. it was only about 12 E; well worth it. The mausoleum of Augustus is next door but was inaccessible when I was there. It seems there is restoration going on.

What an excellent work, congratulations! EDIT: I forgot to comment about the narration, I think it's a nice addition. You should definitely continue like this, in my opinion. I can't understand how your channel has no more subscribers, something is really wrong in the youtube community.

I remember way back in 1972, when I was in middle School, called BUCHANAN JUNIOR HIGH, in Wintersville, Ohio, U.S.A., that I was taking LATIN I! LATIN was the only Subject that I then put in the Exact Center of my Curriculum and Mental World of Intellection. The previous Summer Months Of June and July I had much fun working on this Art Project, in anticipation of beginning my study of LATIN ONE: from the downtown Steubenville library I xeroxed some "illustrated" plates of the Procession of ARA PACIS, The Altar of Piece, and then copied the preferred scenes on art paper, backed by cut-out cardboard from old album records. I even used some tempera paints for the main V.I.P. figures on the sculptural frieze, then converted the entire SCENE onto bigger old cut out vinyl record covers: then I added Scotch Tape over It, and bordered everything in green colored paper for the edging. it was my very own Homemade PLACQUE of The ALTAR of PEACE, which I hung up high on my bedroom wall. Then during the FALL Quarter, I entered It in the Junior High Art Exhibit and g=gOT an HONORABLE MENTION Ribbon attached to It! i also did this accompanying Placque of the Young OCTAVIAN, based on another Xerox Image. It also received an Honorable Mention Ribbon! too bad I didn't have a camera to snapshot Both into a lasting photo album. This was years before the Internet even existed, where videos and pics are so readily available by the touch of a button. Did other school Youngsters do similar things elsewhere in Latin Studies?

I was so moved the first time I viewed the #D video of the park around the mausoleum and altar, etc. I imagined it being a lovely respite from the smells and congestion of the city and how I would have loved strolling through there in those years before the district got ingilled and built up from "sprawl". I also just visited a site that covered quite comprehensively the massive amount of study and basic restoration of the mausoleum (finally, thankfully!) going on right now. It has endured both neglect and mixed use of questionable judgement over the centuries and it's so wonderful that the effort is finally happening to bring it back. As I clicked through all the pix I had the shimmering images from your 3D tours dancing in my mind and they were such a gift!

Beautifully done Sir. One suggestion. When you show how an area looked under a different emperor it would help to display as y the date somewhere on the screen. Also, a compass overlay from the perspective of the camera which is synced to this view and orbits with the perspective would help orient the viewer. Otherwise your work is amazing. Thank you.

Très bonne reconstitution de l'ara pacis, en latin. Je n'ai pas tout compris à la narration en anglais. Dommage pour moi. J'aimais bien les musiques en fond sonore des vidéos. Malgré cela, j'aime beaucoup "History in 3D"...

So after the period of late antiquity with the ground level so high, do we know exactly how it became buried and forgotten? Or do archeologists conjecture that since it was so low it lost significance and was buried to not impede the road way?
