Hi Erin, I hope you will reply me for this.. I'm a new VA from Indonesia. As I know, a Southeast Asia like Indonesia or Philiphine have a 5usd/hr rate. As you said it should be 15usd from Indonesia and it depends on the location too. What do you think of my rate if I have no experience at all ( I've just done my resume and a dummy portfolio). I wanna try to call a small business company in Australia to offer my service just like what you said (like one month free). But I just have a communication english skill and sometimes still need dictionary apps or extension to understand the higer-english-word. I've been so confuse to find because Indonesian rate is supposed to be 5 USD but I wanna do it in Australia, otherwise I have no experience still. I really need your help. Thank you!

Here's my advice: 1. Focus on skills: While rates vary, the most important factor is the value you bring. Focus on highlighting your communication skills and willingness to learn. 2. Trial period: Offering a free trial month is a fantastic way to demonstrate your potential and build confidence on both sides. However, there is a strong possibility that clients will take your FREE work and then not sign a contract with you. If you try this approach, you must be willing to push them hard to sign you up as a paid VA. 3. Language growth: There are awesome free tools (like Grammarly, ChatGPT, or Gemini) for quick grammar checks while you're building your vocabulary. Your dedication to improving your English will be an asset! 4. Realistic targets: Start by targeting smaller businesses or individual people who may be more open to working with a less experienced VA at a starting rate. 5. Build knowledge: Research common Australian business needs. Are there software programs or types of tasks popular in Australia that you could start learning?
