The province, located 5 meters below sea level, is protected by dikes and divided by the Knardijk, a 18-kilometer inner dike. The Knardijk serves as a flood barrier and hosts a cycle path offering panoramic views.

Larserbos, a 204-hectare forest established in 1966, features a mix of alder forest, grasslands, butterfly fields, and fens. The Larservaart strip forms a 10-kilometer green corridor connecting various nature reserves and supporting wildlife migration.

Established in the 1970s as an extension of Artis Zoo in Amsterdam, Natuurpark Lelystad spans over 400 hectares. It provides a refuge for endangered species such as the European bison, beaver, otter, Przewalski's horse, and Père David's deer. The park also hosts less threatened species like wild boars, storks, red deer, and moose. The park's spacious and varied habitats allow animals to exhibit natural behaviors without the need for external feeding.
✈️ 𝐀𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞:
The Aviodrome Aviation Museum is the largest Dutch museum for aviation and aerospace. Aviodrome boasts a comprehensive collection of over 100 old and new airplanes and helicopters. Since 2003, Aviodrome has been located near Lelystad Airport.

Harderbroek was created in 1974 as a marsh and lake area. During its construction, forests were planted on the far west side and along the northern and eastern edges. The marshland is characterized by wet grasslands, reed beds, and open water. Covering an area of 187 hectares, it serves as an important habitat for rare bird species, including the bittern, egret, spoonbill, and bearded tit.

@@cyclinginholland Persoonlijk vind ik filmpjes van twintig minuten of meer en dan "unedited" ook erg leuk, maar ik begrijp dat jullie een impressie van een complete route willen geven en dat bij te lange filmpjes sommige mensen afhaken, dus ik ben met de filmpjes zoals ze nu zijn ook erg blij! Misschien is het een idee om af en toe van erg mooie stukjes een extra filmpje van een minuut of twintig te plaatsen, als een soort bijlage bij een bepaalde route ?!

Tip! : Kom ook een keer net iets lager een mooie route fietsen ; op de Noord Veluwe. Veel variatie daar . Er zijn bossen, heide, weilanden ėn water.
