Echo Papa I had a couple of questions. I went from 7 to 8 and in 7 the brake effect didn't always stop the song but now 8 seems to always stop my song and then gives the automatic option of brake starting. Is there a way to keep it from stopping the track when I use the brake effect? And also on 7 I know you could use the bottom menu where the tracklist is to also apply an effect or record... can westill do that on 8? and How do I remove the album cover above the tracklist? In case you don't know what I mean for any question I can email you a print screen of what I'm talking about.

Hi, great videos. Is there a way to change the waveform colors to something like the old vdj7 colors, not too vivid? I tried all the settings on offer in options but they are not what I'm looking for - they look too busy. Also is there a way to change the Video, Music, Karaoke icon colors in the browser?

Sussed it out guys - Go to the skins folder and open the skin in an xml editor. Scroll down to the two lines that look like this - These are the waveform commands - on mine it was line 170 & 192 but this will change depending on how busy your skin is. The numbers are the binary code for a color, you can work these out in most paint or photopaint style programs (using paintshop etc the number will be displayed in a box when you change a color). Leave the hash tag and just change the six numbers/letters after it. The 'colorplayed=' bit is the wiping color that covers the waveform as a song progresses. Save to your vdj skins folder as an xml using a different name. Then you will also need to copy the Skin png file and rename to the same as your newly modified skin. (VDJ looks for both files to use the skin) Select the new skin from within vdj and view your changes.

Love your videos they are so informative.I have a question for you . How do I save cue points in a track and assign different to ones to each of the 8 pads on my pioneer ddjsr (hot cues) so that when I load a track when next using virtual dj I can hit the hot cue button on the controller and i have a choice of 8 previously store cues . I would like the track still to load at the beginning as normal and only go to the cue point as i when I hit the cue button and desired cue point from the 8 pads is pressed.Thanks in advance

petepercussion So you are trying to have different 8 cue points when clicking the software then when pressing cue buttons on your controller?

I want to assign upto 8 different cue points to the hots cue on my controller to get rid of long intros but when i load to track want i to play automatically from the beginning of the track and not from any cue point , i want to choose if it plays from a certain cue point by hitting the chosen pad of choice if i dont choose a pad I want it to play from the very start of the track when I hit the normal play pause button and also when I hit cue want it to go back to the beginning of the track and not a hot cue, i want the flexibility of both if that makes sense.

Thank you Tony. I have not started any timecode videos yet. I was wrestling with a busted needle. I've got the needle fixed, and time codes will probably be on my list for late this month or early next month.
