I see now that you type 'equalisermode' into the Options searchbar and switch Equaliser to full kill mode. Then no sound will leak through when your taps are all closed. I'm so happy I finally discovered this... sound always used to leak through so it affected my comfort as a DJ. Thanks for the video!

Hey mate! Thanks for putting these VDJ8 series together! They helped me figure quite a few things out. I have a favor to ask. Could you please put another video on the equalizer frequency ranges I will explain what I am trying to achieve. I play in VDJ8, but I construct my sample mixes in Ableton Live 9. The settings for EQ3 in Live are pretty straightforward, but I get lost trying to set the same equalizer bands in VDJ8. I have the equalizer mode set to full kill. What does the central frequency mean? Do lows and highs extend to their respective ends of audible spectrum? Where and by how much do frequency bands overlap when in full kill? What is the point of setting the central frequency for the mids? I have not noticed any difference while changing that parameter's value for as long as it is between the low and high values. Basically, I want to be able to set both applications to apply the same amount of boost or cut to any of the three frequency bands so that my live mixes and sample mixes sound the same. I will appreciate any help. :)

***** You can modify what the central frequency is for each Low Mid and High Equalizer. I have never played with these settings, so let me know what your success is like. Go to SETTINGS -> OPTIONS & TWEAKS -> Click SHOW ADVANCED OPTIONS check box -> search for EQUALIZER and you should see the settings.

Echo Papa Well, I ended up changing values back to the VDJ8 default ones (200, 1700, and 6500) and tweaking Ableton's EQ3 to resemble the VDJ's settings as close as possible. The way I figured it works in VDJ is as follows. The mid frequency value does not affect the sound in any way as long as it is between the low and high values. The low and high values play the most important roles here. I like the VDJ8 default settings because they make for a wide (and meaty) mid-frequency band and allow me to work with high and low bands in my transitions very neatly. :)

Echo Papa I still wish VDJ8 devs change it to the same kind of low-high setup as it is in EQ3 in Ableton Live. It's much easier to grasp and play around with. Thanks for your help, man!

On VDJ 7 I had keyboard shortcuts for the bass kill on both decks to swap them for clean mixes. Now on the VDJ 8 those keyboard commands don't work. Has anyone encountered this issue. Are there VDJ 8 shortcuts to apply kill options on the keyboard.

The main filter knob on the mixer should do a full kill if you rotate it all the way to the left or right without any special settings.
