So I’m going with three friends, all separate phones and tickets and everything, how is it going to work as far as us all getting the same color and same showtime? Just luck of the draw I guess? Also sucks for people who aren’t up to date on Disney updates every single day who won’t know this system when they go and will likely miss out or get a bad spot to view it from. Capacity? As in Capacity as the parks stand now with Pirates down, Nemo, the Tree House Toontown, Hyperion, ect ect.? Yeah thats going to be miserable. I mean if they think they're going to be staffed for capacity as it is now, then yeah they could probably pull that off but definitely not staffed for full true capacity levels like in 2019. We won't see that until 2024. I agree with what Ron said on the podcast. They need places to chew up the crowds. They need these rides and entertainment venues back open. They better get ready for a Very Steep Plummet on that Customer Satisfaction survey. Miserable.

They're really just coasting on the name Disneyland. It'll work for a while, but now younger kids don't get the same experience the generation before them had. Consistent 90 minute waits for everything is normal nowadays and they aren't ready

I'm so happy to hear that they won't be charging for character meet & greets. My kids visited Disneyland for the first time last year, so this will be their first time hugging a character. They're super excited! I'm so glad "all" the kids will get to see their favorite characters, instead of just the rich kids, that's what Walt Disney would've wanted.

So how does the virtual queue system work with the 2 shows a night? Do you think we'll have an option of which time to go for or will we just be randomly assigned? The day we're going will have a 9:00 and 10:15 show. I really hope there's a way to select a time preference for those of us with young kids who won't last until the later time.

I do remember pre pandemic, when one would get the fast pass, it would be based on a first come first serve basis. We didn’t get to choose the time, if the tickets for the first show where gone then you would get the second show time. Hope this helps

@@aiver.a That's what I remember too, and we would always rope drop straight to the fast pass booth and get the first time. With everyone booking at noon it seems like there's no way to up your chances of getting either time.

Considering how popular both Fantasmic and World of Color are. It would not surprise me if they did the the fastpass Plus. Virtual Queue is practically like they have done for Star Wars

So Disney itself holds about 80,000 guest at full capacity. Which pre covid almost would never happen. So theoretically there should be 80,000 park reservations starting may 1st. Which would mean that if you have a dream key you should be able to get park reservations same day no problem….. we’ll see about that.

They’ll probably define “Full” capacity as the amount of guests they believe a certain number of cast members can realistically handle. So probably way below 80,000 most days. The one thing I do expect to change soon is the weekends going back to being more crowded than the weekdays. The last few months Wednesday’s have been more crowded than Saturday’s but once the SoCal tickets expire and they’re back to some sort of “Full” capacity that’ll flip back to normal.

Just spent two days at Disneyland and one day at DCA (staying at Paradise Pier with out of town guest). First...let me say Genie+ is very well worth it...every day. But I have liked the limited attendance a lot. I like the reservation system to control the crowds. I may be alone in that opinion however. LOL. I also like the characters have distance and available to all. They seem to stay out for all of us longer.

I have a suggestion for the getaway hotels that are sponsored. I prefer a hotel a few miles away fr the park. Those hotels tend to have better prices, higher star ratings, and no parking fees. ☺

The only good thing about full capacity is if you get more access to more days. We are wanting to finally hit the parks since before the pandemic, and aren't sure we should commit to a magic key just yet, but the single day calendar is so incredibly limited. (California Adventure is almost not available to entire month of May) It has both good and bad sides to it. I guess we will see! Either way, I can't wait to go with the family!

Hello fellow frog boilers. No lightning lane yet. The special seating will be a paid option soon. If people will pay 20 bucks for a single 5 minute ride. They most certainly will pay even more for special seating for a show like fantasmic or world of color. Bring your credit cards or continue to boycott Genie plus and pay to play access.

I missed the virtual queues for Rise of the Resistance every single time. I tried ten times. I've experienced it several times once it was available by standby. I dread that World of Color and probably Fantasmic will also be available only by virtual queue.

Wait. Fully staffed by May 1st - and its April 15th? There's all that training and possible certification required for certain roles. That doesn't happen in 2 weeks. I unfortunately feel they will just fill the park and let the cast number catch up as much as they can. Disney IMO is betting that people are still so amped to go to the parks that there is no pressure to do anything to accommodate larger crowds. Wait and extra 10 min for your churro? Shoot, you're waiting 20 already. And you are here... what's an extra 10 min - or more?

Wow. This saddens me. My mother is going for her first time in a long time. Probably her last time going and is already trying to wait for her favorite, Pirates to open. She wants to spend her day in mostly Disneyland and see the world of color show. If virtual queue is at noon and requires you to be in the park, and park hopping being at 1pm.... you have to start the day in the park you want to see a show for. This is a real bummer.

No clue, but if you just look around you, anywhere and everywhere.. businesses are still having a hard time getting people to want to work again. Practically every business I go into or come across has a help wanted sign right now. It’s not just Disney. That’s why we have to remember to put on that extra layer of patience with the cast members right now. And every other minimum wage worker for that matter.

When we were there in February, you could book Rise (you pay for it) as soon as you entered the park. They were usually sold out by midday. Might go faster now if the crowds are bigger.

It should be the same as with ROTR virtual queue that you didn't have to be IN the park, you just had to have been scanned into the park before noon. Some people were getting ROTR from DTD in the past. Especially since if you have a park hopper & start in DCA, you CAN'T be in DL @ noon because you can't hop until 1:00.

Yes, I know that the character meet and greets in Disneyland, especially the meet and greets with Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella inside the Royal Hall, are going to be restored this Easter Monday, but will the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique be giving princess makeovers to little girls again on the same day? The Disneyland Beat said that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique hasn't resumed it's makeovers yet, but they're hopeful that it will on the same day the character meet and greets get restored.

Do you mean to tell me that you are now required to either get into the virtual queue or standby queue JUST to SEE the SHOW at all ?? June 1st is full time & 100% back to normal I’ve been telling ya about certain things. May is NOT the date Ticket booth will be open again. For single day tickets. I don't see anyone booking a reservation. Outside of peak times reaching capacity was not really an issue. Unless they offered a benefit to booking such as MMs again which would be great
