wonderful interview! well done! I come from a Buddhist culture and we also learn the same things from the Buddha. It was not easy for me living in the west where people have a lot but are negative and anxious most of the time. There is so much fear people allow to hold them back. All is created by your own Citta (your heart/mind). If you want to be happy, free yourself from desire and expectations. Great that a western scientist talks about this. There is a teaching from the Buddha: ''No one can make you suffer unless you allow him to do so''. Happiness is your choice!

I love Tom's response to negativity and hes so right. Right when someone is calling you hateful names "you just walk up and give them a hug". Turn a negative into a positive by changing the way you react to something. We don't have any control over others but we can choose the way we react to something in a positive way. Relationship issues you have the hardest time in, you have the most to learn from. As this is your objective viewpoint defining you. Give them the respect that you may not be right and then explain your reasoning. I use to help couples in closed marriage counselling and had great success after people learned to respect another point of view than their own. People can't handle the ego deflation long enough to really listen and reflect, then react. Great work Tom! Love peace and prosperity to all.

Really appreciate all of your videos, Evita. Especially love Tom Campbell. It seems so simple and yet it takes determined, intentional practice to quell the ego and recondition ourselves to default to tendencies that are not based out of fear. Putting this into practice, I've found one simple question helps me to refocus/align myself in instances whereupon I feel negativity or resistance to a given situation: "What about this situation/person/moment is truly bothering me?" What I often find is that these end up being opportunities to better examine and reflect upon some aspect of myself and very rarely have much to do with the actual situation at hand. What years ago I would have dismissed by way of arrogance or ego, these instances now have so much more meaning. It's almost full circle how it all gels together!

I understand you say Love comes from “other” and that in order to become love you have to change yourself? Couldn’t you also say in order to become love u have to love yourself ? As in make the best choices for yourself even if they’re not the choices you necessarily want to make? I truly believe u can’t love others until u love yourself for who u r. Accepting all your flaws and working towards improving them. “Acceptance is love” -youngdankee

This is all very true and part of this dialogue. Most definitely we have to love and accept ourselves if we are to be of most value to others, and personal change to become the best versions of ourselves that we can be at any given time is one of the most loving things we can do. Thanks for sharing your comment.

We were all born with a blank slate and with love. It's through human neglect and brutality that we lost it. Parents who do not love and educate. Churches that take time and money and do not educate and a school systems that herd you in and out without a practical education.

Another great video! It reminded me of a quote from Albert Einstein about the definition of insanity is when "you keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting the same result". Depending on the situation it's time to do something different even it's not the best.

How does this relate to an abusive situation when you are a child and can't leave?
@EvitaOchel7 жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher, this question has actually been addressed previously, either in these comments or on another one of Tom's videos (I cannot recall, so you'd have to scroll through comments if interested). But basically put, no one is a victim. The situations that we experience in this "virtual reality" are part of our own engineering before this life experience. We are quick to judge this or that situation as "bad", but in truth every single situation, no matter how pleasant or unpleasant is only providing us with context for our soul's growth. At the end of this life, the soul does not get hurt, it is only our physical body and mind or Ego that gets hurt. Every situation allows us to choose how we feel about ourselves and the other person or people, and either grow towards love or hate. Of course this is not to belittle the situation or say that we should just put up with any abuse, if at all possible for us to do something about. Not at all. We should always do whatever we can to keep ourselves safe and in a state of wellbeing. Naturally, a child under about 8 to 10 has little say in this, above 10 they can start to think and act in ways that can minimize the impact, and above about 16 take more necessary measures. Any kind of abuse journey is to find our own self-worth and self-love to not allow ourselves to be abused. It is by no means a pleasant life experience to endure, but one of the most powerful to help us realize who we really are and how worthy we truly are, of course if we choose and are able within a lifetime to seize such insight. To help more on this topic, I would recommend this video I did on the Soul's Plan: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3enYouDmZ14as0 When we start seeing things from the perspective of the Soul, rather than perspective of body, mind or society, a very different picture emerges.

A practical technique to reduce fear I have discovered is called the 9 Breathings of Purification. It can be easily found here on KZbin. All the best !
