The book takes a unique look at the caste systems that have been utilized to keep people not only from living a life of freedom and opportunity but those that have also been executed to create tension and unrest. I can relate to some of the experiences Isabel Wilkerson expressed in the text. Thank you for bringing the topic to the forefront and chronicling the true history of our country's past. The book should be a required text for college students, regardless of their majors.

We shouldn't wait until college to read this, primarily because a lot of people aren't fortunate enough to go to college. It should be mandatory reading in high school classes. At that formultive time opinions are still being formed.

I wish someone could let her know that Amazon is selling a book by the same title by University Press and others like myself have purchased the book thinking that we were purchasing Ms Wilkerson's book. I am looking for a way to contact Amazon. Amazon is littered with other reviews including mine with so many that were decieved.

It doesn't have to offer solutions. It's purpose is to uncover, explore and detail the information and injustices. It's up to others to come up with solutions. In the discussion she even states that she's the building inspector for this US house. It is up to others to repair it.

Caste in India has been around 3000 years. Warring with other different groups seems to be human nature.

I want to give everybody a better perspective of things our creator said it would be a time of judges so I need everyone to focus and know that this is a time of judges and war so we must pray that our judges be awakened, that our judges are victorious and that our judges clear our path, right now that's where our creators energy is going to so if we pray that the judges come swiftly if we pray that the judges awakened speedily those of us that are here now most of us most likely will be those judges we will activate ourselves we awaken ourselves by prayer that's how we control reality so we all will focus on a one goal event, it shall happen and what's better than focusing on the next prophet to come we will all want to see that but how many of us are praying that the next prophet shall come? So allow all of us to take the time out when you read this to pray in your mind or out loud for the Judge to awaken and to come now and to clear the path of humanity to clear the ill intent off of the playing field once the ill intent is gone,equality and truth will be the only thing that's left standing. So if you take anything from the message of the book take that Our mind is what creates fruit 🍓🍑 so if we grow the fruit why not eat the fruit why allow others to live off our creation? So I call to those with the power of manifestation to focus for one month on awakening the Judges and that they will cleans the world of it's I'll intent

The "caste" is based off race! Wtf is she taking about?! The caste system in India is based on racism! "If you don't understand white supremacy/racism, what it is and how it works, everything else you understand will only confuse you." - Neely Fuller jr And this lady is thoroughly confused!
@kathybenton1776

I believe you Kareem are the one rather confused. The caste system in India is based on much more than simply 'race', it's also based on occupation, religion and family lineage. And while race plays a large part in the caste system in the USA, it's not the total delineator of where you fall in our caste system. You seem to be unable to deal with nuanced ways of thinking and speaking.

@@kareemsmith8957 No, actually. Kathy is correct. Look up "Jati" and see what jobs are available to them based on their caste. There are many websites that offer explanations as to why. It's mostly based on what Kathy said (Occupation, Family lineage, Socioeconomic Status).

@@kareemsmith8957 Why would you vehemently accuse her of lying when it is you who are grossly incorrect? In the US, caste is primarily based on race, which is indicated by "skin color and features". However, in India the caste system is well over a 1000 years old and has its basis in religious origins. If you were born in a certain caste, the only way to get out of that caste was to die and come back in a higher caste. Even now though there are laws in India against discrimination against the lower caste (the Untouchables or Dalits), there is still a great stigma against them. (Look at the video from 7:20).
