I personally think 9 meter logs would be better than 12 meter. And would go Wood Turner, it will take logs instead of the Flooring Factory which needs planks (one step less production).

Have to agree. I’ve generally found that 6m logs get the best price. For example 2x bundles of 6m logs Vs 1x 12m seems to get a better price

All the 12 metre trees Vf that will leave small top ends use them for wood chip

I usually go 6m logs, apparently that's also the lenght you get payed the most for too IIRC . Love your videos

Why not get a grapple for the excavator. And use it as a loader. Would make life way easier. Coming from a guy from the PNW.

the big volvo excavator has a tree harvester head that you can cut the tree and debranch it in one go....maybe save for that?

Yeah. I looked at that when I was first leasing it in episode 1. I think when we eventually but the excavator we'll get the changeable head on it.

You would be over loaded on the rear and not enough weight on the drive axel which could make it almost undrivable

The longer logs may be more of a hassle to work with, but it looked like you filled the trailer faster than with the 5 meter logs. Also, maybe cutting the logs starting from the base will rid the top growth.

I think I might do smaller logs as they're more manageable, but not as small as 5m.

When I cut down a tree, I try to get as close to the ground as possible, even into the grass. The smaller trunks are easier to drive over and take less time to remove. Marking those stumbs with a little of plain ground is a good idea! that way you clear out a yard little by little. And I noticed you drive into the water fairly deep. Is that needed? Because the truck could not be so happy being that deep in.

You have to rent the train ($1000 per hour) to deliver, even to off map locations, so better to sell on map.

Can you use a brush-cutter mower to remove the bushes instead of terrain editing? I don’t have FS22 (yet..) but saw one used by Daggerwin on his recent Survival series, not sure if an in-game accessory or a mod.

Have to use forestry mulcher to rid land of all debris, also makes fields as you go ready for any crop... Another side note you only need to purchase a spinnery and iron furnace to complete all goods needed for both the coaster and boat, the flooring factory and wood turner are already in the main town ready for purchase, albeit for roughly the same price and can't choose location, so if you really want to double up on those 2 factories just to be able to put them on your own land in a more convenient location then by all means go ahead, otherwise no need to double up on those...
