VIRTUALLY EVENTING | Dressage Competition With An EPIC Twist

Welcome back for another episode of VIRTUALLY EVENTING! ‪@LifeontheLeftRein‬ has kindly passed the baton of joy to me, for my first ever shot at hosting an episode!!
In this week's vlog, myself, Tina, ‪@emdeventing‬ and ‪@elphick.event.ponies‬ go head-to-head and complete a Dressage Riders Online Test (BE106) to see who comes out on top.
But wait... there's A BIG TWIST!! I shan't spoil it in the description, but guys it's a great twist.

That was emotional!!! you didn’t disappoint with the “EPIC twist”, my mouth was gaping when you announced the additional judges! I think the universe paired the perfect commentators to each rider and horse, and I might have had leaky eyes a bit at parts knowing how proud you all must have been of your ponios!! I’m actually really sad VE will end as real eventing resumes, I love your VE group dynamic; it’s so much fun and so inspiring to watch, especially seeing ladies cheering on ladies in this sport. Well done Lucy! Memories!!

Absolutely loved this! Not gonna lie Tina and Lucy, I’d have died if I’d been judged by either of those two (both childhood heros)! Spencer completely made me feel I was watching a 4* with lil Spritely competing, got butterflies so god knows how Em felt 🤯😍 and Fred had some really lovely and helpful comments too. Well done girls. Epic Vlog (though I love em all) xx

This was so cool! I love that so many top level riders are giving online critiques at the moment. I did one with Boyd Martin and got some amazing feedback from online riders collective. Such a good idea, and can’t wait to see the next VE episode!

Well done Luce! This all came together amazingly! Jammy and Meg looked like they were having a good time and hearing Fred's baby in the background was cute! Sir Toddy seemed to like Sir Banksy and Tina looked more relaxed than I've ever seen her in a dressage test! :) Spritey! What a lady! :) Of course Em gave her proper quarter markers! Spencer trotted out his announcer voice! Pippa was very constructive in her comments! I loved her clicking at Laragh! Lucy you turned out properly! Fantastic job ladies! Well, you can’t say that nothing good has come out of the pandemic when you see something as cool as this!! Whoever had this brilliant idea, hats off to you. And the pros who agreed to pitch in? I’m not sure this would’ve ever happened without the pandemic creating a new reality. So, you know, the apropos thing to say is “memories. “😁 I really, really enjoyed seeing this.

What an amazing experience having your tests critiqued by world class riders! I cringed less than I laughed at the attempts to minimic Mark's Kiwi/UK accent :p Although in Tina's defense, the New Zealand accent is supposed to be one of the more difficult to get right apparently, so it was a good try :p Well done to Emily & Sprite winning the dressage round :) LOL at how uncompetitive Meg is compared to the rest of the squad :p Looking forward to the next phases :) Thank you all again for doing these VE vlogs, they have been so much fun to watch :)

As much as I love the usual XC footage, I loved the dressage twist of this VE Squad edition! So interesting to see each rider do the same test and compare. Plus to hear the professional commentary was amazing!

Wow, really fabulastic ! thanks guys, I thought when Meg was riding Jam how well they both did, seeing as how Jam is still a bit green, and getting Fred turned out really well for them. He has this wonderful teaching quality and can see how to improve imediately. En OMG Sir Mark Todd, I thought Banksy did really well although it looked like hard work Tina Well Done. It was wonderful to see Sprite at that age performing her best, gave me also a warm feeling especially the proud mum moment at the end. Lucy I thought did a really chilled ride, enjoyed watching them all and the comments were very helpful. Although I feel really ancient now. Pippa Funnel isnt everybody's childhood heroe, Lucinda Prior Palmer was mine closely followed by Princess Anne. So I am now a fossil (lol) thanks guys for rubbing it in. xxx from germany
