As was noted in the video, the Woojer Edge Vest supports AptX LL, that's low latency, and it's way better than the standard Bluetooth audio protocols, which the Subpac M2 is limited to. For me anyway, it makes the Woojer a viable wireless device with no latency issues, I use it almost every VR session. As a side note regarding the Index, in a recent SteamVR beta we just got support for simultaneous audio output in the head speakers and from the 3.5 mm port in a firmware update, so if you still want to go cabled you can do it directly from the Index headset.
@neurokinetik64ES4 жыл бұрын
That update will make a huge difference, as I'd basically given up on using the Woojer with the Index because I didn't want to run a dedicated audio cable all the way back to the PC, and my low latency AptX bluetooth dongle wasn't playing nice with the Woojer.

I own the bHaptics Tactot vest, and would like to add that they DO HAVE Audio To Haptic feedback mode, which works just like the Woojer, and they added a LOT more games supported recently. This includes support for Onward, Pavlov, Superhot, Blade And Sorcery, Zero Caliber, BONEWORKS and they are currently working on implementing Vertigo, In Death Unchained, Gun Club VR and Phasmophobia. So the support is very good. Also, the bHaptics has Audio To Haptic feedback mode, which works just like the Woojer Vest and Subpac M2 when enabled, translates the audio from your computer into vibrations, and you can choose different profiles to tailor the vibrations to the game you are playing. It works really well, and you can even make your own profiles using their dev kit. This makes it COMPLETELY compatible with Beat Saber, and you could theoretically tailor a profile to any game. No delay perceptible even in this mode.

I got the Woojer Vest for my son and connected it with the Creative BT-W3 in order to sync with PS4 Pro. That was pretty easy and love no wires between the console and me. However i did plug in my wired beats headphones into the woojer, highly recommended. When playing games on the PS4 the haptic is great. When i tried streaming DisneyPlus the sound was still there on the headphones but no haptic...little disappointed there. I was thinking maybe its the streaming service so i pulled up the Mandalorian on my iPhone 7Plus and connect the Woojer to bluetooth, now i feel the haptic again. So something with streaming through the ps4 to the woojer for DisneyPlus was the issue. However walking around with my phone jamming to Taylor Swift (random song on my phone) and getting the full Woojer sound was awesome. I like the woojer vest a lot and looking forward to the next gen.

Most games don't actually support surround sound, at least, the rhythm games don't (racing and flight sims mostly do). I actually have tried it with Pistol Whip. I do use external speakers and subwoofers, though, for rhythm games, and that does work, but limited to stereo sound. Of course, with external subwoofers, you don't actually need the haptic vest to feel the music.

Good timing on this. I've had the Woojer Vest Edge for a bit now (was on the first shipment off the Kickstarter). I was really excited about it when I ordered, but after using it for a while, I've been on the fence whether or not I actually want to keep it. I really only bought it for music and rhythm games (specifically Beat Saber, Pistol Whip and Synth Riders). It worked well with the Oculus Quest, but it's a bit of a pain to setup on the Index, as connecting to the headphone jack on the Index disables the built-in speakers, and I didn't have much luck pairing it to my Bluetooth dongle (Avantree Leaf Pro). EDIT: Looks like the new Steam update fixes the output issue. Might have to revisit. For strictly music listening, in an all hard-wired mode, I like it but don't love it. The claimed frequency response seems way better than it really is, because I can hear lower bass notes in my headphones that produce no output at all in the Woojer. I'd say the Woojer doesn't actually do anything below 40Hz.
