I have had physical pain in my muscles, tendons, skin and cartilage since 2005. I "give up" my pain and suffering to God as many times as I can remember to do it. It is not easy, but God has provided me the graces to manage most of it. I thank God for these difficulties as it brought me back to Him. Praise Be to God!!!

Jillian D I appreciate your father’s service. But did you listen to the Fathers critique on bravery at 17:00.? If your dad was in combat It would be interesting to see what your dad thinks of the fathers comments. Everything I’ve learned about those facing such violence is that they are very very scared. He says those people arent brave. He’s wrong and it’s not a good indicator of his character.

Peace be with you Wil RockQ. Fr. Rippeger wasn’t critiquing bravery, but rather making a clarification that the virtue of of choosing the good, regardless of potential harm. It’s more than bravery, an evil person can be brave, but only through intentional mortification, can one develop the virtue to choose the good in the face of an eminent threat. We must take on the cross, we must choose to suffer, because through mortification, we develop the virtue to serve God with joy, regardless of suffering. In the military, we call it, “embarrassing the suck.” Once you embrace the suck, you move beyond the suffering and are able to focus on completing the necessary task. God be with you.

@christopherhennigan9834 4 жыл бұрын
Patrick Montgomery, I’m not sure where you got “self harming” out of what I said, because I did not even remotely mention it. What I was trying to say, is that we must embrace the suffering that the Lord allows to experience. I do not agree, support, or condone self harming in any way.

+Cassie Miller It can also mean that as we continue to grow stronger in virtues... If a thought enters our mind that would offend God we can choose not to entertain that thought. For example if you see a person you maybe attracted to and an impure thought enters your mind, if you choose not to entertain that thought because you don't want to offend God you might immediately say a Hail Mary asking our Lady's help to immediately ignore any impure thought by not entertaining that thought. If you had entertained an impure thought you would greatly offend God and lose your state of grace by commiting a mortal sin. The more times you did not entertain impure thoughts and prayed a Hail Mary immediately asking her help.. The stronger you would become in the virtue of overcoming impure thoughts and the closer you become to our Lord. The same would apply to thoughts of anger, jealousy, or any thought that would not please our Lord. If you are always mindful not to entertain any thought thst displeases Our Lord.. you are always thinking of our Lord and not allowing youself to offend him. As we grow in holiness in our earthly life we should be always be striving to be no longer us but rather to reflect Our Lord. Becoming Christ like in everyway is our goal. Not limited to just thoughts but also how we speak, Behave, dress, etc. We no longer live for our will or desires we choose to only do God's will until we are no longer the person we were but rather we become conformed to live and act as Jesus did.. in Scripture.. It is no longer I that live but Christ who lives in me..said St Paul.

Amen to that. Where I am it’s difficult enough to find one that speaks good English and even cares about his congregation. I’m in Texas and everyone is either Nigerian or Spanish w very thick accents that are incredibly difficult to discern and don’t use it well enough to communicate smoothly esp in interpersonal situations. I was a cradle Catholic and what the communities are missing by not having a priest that can interact on a deeper level is horribly dry for our surrounding parishes (in all directions of our rural community. We can’t find a church within 2 hours at this point if not more)

I am an elderly woman who is learning detailed instructive psychological and spiritual information about virtues and vices as well as step by step directions on to how to gain virtues and minimize vices these past few years thanks to Father Ripperger. As overwhelming as it is to hear it for the first time, I am grateful, hopeful and determined to concede complete control over my exterior and interior life to Jesus Christ, God's son, who lives and reigns with God in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

I simply replied: “God loves me.” He must love us to give us more responsibilities. Once on Mount Athos there was a monk who lived in Karyes. He drank and got drunk every day and was the cause of scandal to the pilgrims. Eventually he died and this relieved some of the faithful who went on to tell Elder Paisios that they were delighted that this huge problem was finally solved. Father Paisios answered them that he knew about the death of the monk, after seeing the entire battalion of angels who came to collect his soul. The pilgrims were amazed and some protested and tried to explain to the Elder of whom they were talking about, thinking that the Elder did not understand. Elder Paisios explained to them: "This particular monk was born in Asia Minor, shortly before the destruction by the Turks when they gathered all the boys. So as not to take him from their parents, they would take him with them to the reaping, and so he wouldn't cry, they just put raki into his milk in order for him to sleep. Therefore he grew up as an alcoholic. There he found an elder and said to him that he was an alcoholic. The elder told him to do prostrations and prayers every night and beg the Panagia to help him to reduce by one the glasses he drank. After a year he managed with struggle and repentance to make the 20 glasses he drank into 19 glasses. The struggle continued over the years and he reached 2-3 glasses, with which he would still get drunk." The world for years saw an alcoholic monk who scandalized the pilgrims, but God saw a fighter who fought a long struggle to reduce his passion. Without knowing what each one is trying to do what he wants to do, what right do we have to judge his effort?

This is the best teaching on suffering & mortification I have ever heard. It also explains the role of The Blessed Mother as Our Lady of Sorrows and why she is considered a martyr. Another huge benefit of this session is the extended Q&A from the audience on a wide range of topics from child rearing to how/when to use fraternal correction, to the caveats around Pilates and accupuncture, how & when to use a counselor and resources for Meditation.

Our Lady of Fatima asked all Catholics for prayers for PRIESTS, please include them as they are judged at the HIGHEST standard. The souls in Purgatory are already saved and I don't discourage prayer for them, far from it. Just consider how many failed and failing priests end up in hell because no one prays for them.

From the Q & A part at the end, Father gave a GREAT description of faculties of priests, very succinct. There is a difference between the POWER and the RIGHT. A priest may have the power to do priestly things, but he never has the right without delegation from his bishop [a.k.a. faculties].

Not that I know better than Fr Ripperger but a point of clarification - for those of you who have abusive relationships, God doesn't want that. Don't seek out people who abuse you. While I am not saying go take out revenge on them, you need to have a proper measure of self-love because if you don't love yourself you cannot love your neighbor AS YOURSELF. There are times when we may have to bear with something for a time but don't think abuse is love.

The reason why I was terrified of children in a Preschool age is there were so many of them. I wouldn’t be able to manage a load of 20 children by myself. A mother knows her limits or else has a husband who can tell when she is stressed out by taking care of babies all day. I’ve thought three or four children would be manageable for anyone. 8-10 children is strictly by the grace of God that he wants you to have so many in your life.

Pray the Rosary DAILY for their repentance and conversion. You have to participate, actively. Every approved apparition of the Holy Virgin has Her asking for this powerful prayer. If you allow your daughter to disrespect you to your face, then you are complicit. As long as you are praying and avoiding sin in your own life, then you can be at peace. Do your part and leave the rest to God and the intercession of His Holy Mother.

I have a question about Eve / Adam .... why would she have negative emotions about something if they were already living in perfect union with God? How would she even know about a negative feeling of not having something or God keeping something from her? Especially if she has never experienced it before? Why didn’t she feel that way when God told them they can eat from all the trees in the garden but that one in the middle of the garden? Why did she only feel that way when the snake came and asked?

A few biblical scholars interpret the deception of Eve (and Adam) differently. Here is something to mull over. (Not promoting this interpretation claiming it is correct....just something to think about). Here we go: The fruit is not fruit, but adultery. The snake ia Satan in the form of a man. Satan, in the form of a beautiful and charismaticman got Eve alone and seduced her. He enticed her to have sexual intercourse with him. He enticed her with his charm. He convinced her that deserved to have more hedonistic pleasure. She succumbed. Eve had already had sex with Adam the same day. Two of her eggs were fertilzed that day. Hence, Eve was impregnated by both Adam and Satan. (Yes, a woman can get impregnated by two men on the same day. This is a biological possibility. One egg was fertilized by Adam. One egg was fertilized by Satan. Abel was the son of Adam. Caine was the son of Satan. This is why adultery is such a terrible sin. It decimates the marital bond and martial trust. It is also disobedience of God and God's will. Based on this interpretation, the original sin was adultery. The forbidden fruit is adultery. Satan is the man who enticed Eve to commit adultery. Something to think about. Blessings.

Peace be. Sacrifice and suffering is not straight in the mind. When another hears mortification, one has equated it in mind with sacrifice or suffering. To reflect sacrifice is Old Testament and Suffering is New Testament. Mortification is the the transfiguration from sacrifice to suffering. Suffering is new because it has only been around since Jesus Christ suffered & died on the cross. His acceptance to be the sacrificial lamb occured at the Last Supper. Mortification occured with Jesus Christ's transfiguration in the Garden of Gethsemane. Holy Mother Mary has sacrifice, suffered and mortified with such grace too. Perfect! Glory be to God Almighty.

What is the idea of a binding prayer? Who has the authority to say one? Is it only the head of a family? How is it different than prayers of exorcism, which laity do not have the authority to say? Thanks.
@boomct8569
@boomct8569 7 жыл бұрын
Binding prayers are to bind/stop the attack of an evil spirit and can be said by even the laity because by virtue of our baptism (and especially Confirmation) we have been given the mission to fight spiritually. BUT ONLY for those over who we have spiritual authority. So, binding prayers can be said for oneself, for one's spouse, for your children. You shouldn't say it for those whom you have no direct authority over. (eg. strangers) This is covered more I think in Fr Ripperger's talks on Spiritual Warfare particularly or on his talk on Spiritual protection. This is also covered towards the end of a talk on this channel called 'The Occult, Harry Potter, Yoga, Chí, & Combating the Demonic'. From the 26 minute mark it mentions binding prayers, what they are, who can use them and how they are used. The difference between exorcisms and other deliverance prayers are that 1) Exorcisms are imprecatory prayers that adjure the demon and speak to them directly by priests who have been given authority to do so by their bishop, over people and they are given spiritual authority over us by their priestly office. This is not something safe to do for laity except in the form of a binding prayer for someone we have direct authority over. It's all about authority! Other deliverance prayers are usually deprecatory, that is, they are directed to Jesus to ask Him to remove the demons/evil. This we can do for any and all situations and people, though we'd better be spiritually prepared and living right because if we're spiritually weak (or not in the state of grace) we could be leaving doors open for ourselves to be overcome pretty quickly. Hope this helps?

So when a person has been pretty much stomped on for most if their life and they get to a point that surpasses the question of why and they just expect it and submits to the fact that is just life for them? Is that what this means? Does this fall into the catagory of suffering servants? Or is there such a thing?

Darijo I’m no expert, others here could probably advise better.... but there are different forms of meditative prayer. Lectio Divina, for example, is where a passage or word from scripture is deeply and quietly contemplated at length. Basically you could think of any form of prayer that is not vocalised nor a prayer of petition, as meditative prayer I think. I don’t think the rosary qualifies as meditative prayer, as it is vocalised and very structured.

I love Fr Ripperger but I wish he sometimes took into account people that were not ideally raised. I want to be humble I want to put my head down when I am humiliated, I do, I am game, but he never really touches on how people who were horrifically sexually assaulted and emotionaly abused into mental unhealth should go about this. Please help in this topic

To sum up about Our Lady: If your name isn't God, you're beneath her! But I wonder if extrapolating Simeon's prophecy to Our Lady to include details of Jesus' Passion is correct. After all, one of the points of the 5th Joyful Mystery and the 3rd of Our Lady's Seven Sorrows is that both she and Joseph were perplexed and confused about why he disappeared for 3 days without telling them. Mary must not have understood the reason because she upbraids Jesus: "Son, why have you treated us so?" [Luke 2:48] Therefore it would seem that Our Lady, at the time, didn't realize the "Finding in the Temple" was a 'type' (or prefigure) of how her son would be lost to her for 3 days after Calvary. And that his mysterious behavior was to prepare her for the terrible event by showing her the will of his heavenly Father - on matters regarding his divine mission - must be accepted on unconditional faith, even if they couldn't be understood by human reason. With regard to other matters, Luke says Jesus was completely subject to them. "And he went down with them to Nazareth and was obedient to them." [Luke 2:51]

Fr Ripberger gave a talk on this very subject and all of the mysteries of the Sorrows of Our Lady, He explains our Lady’s true disposition in that discourse. Holy saints of old had revealed the nature of the relationship between Jesus and his Mother. The exchange between Jesus and his mother is understood in this context. Please forgive me for not going into detail as I am not properly formed to educate in these matters. It may be a great consolation to you to seek Fr. Ripberger’s talk on this very matter. I would urge caution in public discourse until proper formation is achieved in an effort to avoid scandal of “his little ones”. May God bless you.

But the person hurting us esp abusing or even attempting murder or blocking us from performing our duties, going to church, is committing crime. So we shouldn't wish others to sin esp since many are following devils deliberately. My case Im being stalked for years by an ever increasing web of people who despise my going to church and are literally erasing my livelihood. Attempting murder.

10:57: "This is also why the Saints say that it is a sign of favor from God to send you suffering, because He is trying to fashion the virtue in your soul and that He's willing to send it - He doesn't do that with everybody. Why? Because some people, He doesn't send them suffering, because of the fact that they end up not doing it well and if they're just going to sin through it and so He doesn't send it to them."
