We been fostering for over 6 years and raised many children total of 10 during this time (only 2 have been from Muslim families) including 3 new born babies, it is very rewarding and it’s a way of life rather than a job. May Allah swt reward u brother for Making this video and increasing awareness.

The foster care system is so overloading with children. If more people adopted orphans that would lessen the load on the system. And every child deserves to be part of a family and loved like a child of the family no matter how the child is related to the caregiver or "parents."

Allah might make you wait longer to have your own babies until after you adopt, reconsider how you plan possibly, if you adopt before having your own, you will be better prepared for your own. Remember favoritism is not smiled upon, and you are already expressing favoritism before meeting a child, it sounds like.

In fact a 17 year old in my state is still a minor. I myself didn't graduate from high school till I was 19 and my dad used my adulthood and his ability to make me homeless as leverage to control me. There were other issues, but I was given too many chores at home for someone who went to school full time. I wasn't an orphan since my parents didn't die till I was 44 years old.

The problem is adoption is not about children anymore its about money. I was adopted as an infant and it destroyed my family. I had a mother, but she was taught that she wasn't good enough because she was single. So she gave me away and I lost everything. I was made an orphan so greedy people who couldn't have their own biological child could raise me. Yes, helping orphans is good, but adoption doesn't do that. Adoptees are 4 times as likely to take their own lives as non adopted individuals. We are dying. You're not saving us by taking us away from our mothers. Help us stay with our families. That's how vulnerable families can really be helped.

Rebekah ,Your own life experience wasn't unfortunately of any benefit to you, it's a shame that happened to you. On the other hand from my work I have also seen very abusive parents, ones who are a real danger to their children. Unfortunately this topic is not black and white.

@NotACarMechanic Mambutu Family is one of the very cornerstones of our religion! We wonder and strive to change the reality, and the reality of Islam and its emphasis on family values, do tackle the root cause. When majority of people don't question like you mentioned, and many, many factors impact this also, global change doesn't necessarily happen. But we try and we try again. Maybe we won't change the world but maybe we can change someone's world 🌙
@rebekaha.3621
@rebekaha.3621 3 жыл бұрын
I know the issue is not so clear cut. Most of the woman who lose their children to adoption are not abusive or addits. That's a stereotype prepetuated by the adoption industry. Most of the mothers who seem to be seeking adoption actually want their children but lack resources and help. Relinquishing traumatizes the mothers too. Some do end up struggling with addiction to cope with the trauma of losing their children. For the children that were removed do to abuse, there are other ways to help than formal adoption. When a child is adopted their birth certificate is replaced with a false birth certificate making it look as if the child is born to the adopting parents. Legal guardianship would not do that. The children would keep their identities.

I have been thinking of this idea too. We should help people ,single mothers or fathers too should be able to raise their kids even with help. I hope inshaAllah to adopt a kid but not in the way that i am going to substitute her or his mother and family but to help him or her on the journey of life.

Thank you Sheikh you have taught me a lot. Please consider that women remain vulnerable, in all societies in all times. Women who play the role ordained by Allah for women will always remain vulnerable: she stays in the house, takes care of her husband and their children, does not earn much even if she does something from the home, therefore she is dependent on the goodness and generosity of her husband. If he is not a good man, if her father is not a good man, a woman's life is made miserable.
@nazifawali9699
@nazifawali9699 3 жыл бұрын
A woman can earn if she wishes to, if she maintains her hijab and does not go in the path of haraam. These conditions are applicable to men as well. A wife has rights on her husband's earnings, but the earnings of a wife belong to her alone. Muslim or not, woman or not, anyone would have a miserable life if their spouse is not a good person. Thank you for the note of sarcasm, but as a Muslim woman, I would say your viewpoint is quite narrow. Domestic abuse, physical and mental is present everywhere, but if it is present in a Muslim's house, they are not truly following the religion.

The western idea of adoption was known in the pre-islamic era. Prophet Muhammad himself had an adopted son called Zaid. Islam has specifically outlawed adoption in this sense, and the prophet Muhammad had to marry his adopted son's ex-wife to prove without doubt that the adoptive relationship is no longer legal in islam. Sura 33 Aya 4 in the Quran mentions specifically that "And he (Allah) has not made your adopted sons your (true) sons. That is (merely) your saying by your mouths, but Allah says the truth, and He guides to the (right) way". Islam instead introduced a different system called "Kafala", which is literally translated as "sponsorship". The islamic system of sponsorship (Kafala) is significantly different from the western concept of adoption. For example while the sponsor provides for the sponsored child's maintenance and living expenses, sponsored children are considered alien to their siblings-by-sponsorship. As in, an adolescent biological daughter must wear hijab and be fully clothed in front of her adolescent brother-by-sponsorship. And it is possible for the biological daughter to marry her brother-by-sponsorship when they get older. The words "Mum", "Dad", "Brother", and "Sister" are not used by sponsored children to describe members of the sponsor's family. Sponsored children do not inherit any money or possessings from their sponsoring parents, compared to biological children who do inherit.

I’m divorced and my child’s father is not in her life and never was. If I re marry as a Muslim woman my husband can’t see my daughter without hijab what..... Allah didn’t make it hard on us. I don’t know I’ll continue to study and ask Allah. Pray to him because my daughter is my world and I’ll never want to become a nightmare in her life. I want to lead her and I have been for 7 years alone. A Muslim woman told me she must wear hijab in front of her step father... but my goal is for her to become muslimah but also not force and lead her to the direction but Allah is the only one who guides. Anyway Allah knows best. I’ll follow my heart and pray. I need to stop listening to Muslims and pray he will guide me. Inshallah

Sister there is MORE than Hijab in a muslim life ! Teach your child to love and respect ALL people, to love to learn and become productive in this life too. Make her to repect herself and let her grow in the inner being ! A strong personality will save her from being abused more than a hijab is doing so that she will not expierence the same you gone through. God loves you isten to your heart!

Dear Sister, please look into it, as far as I know, your future husband, that is your daughter's stepfather, should be her Mahram. Since it is a huge decision for you, do not base it on one person's advice, be it the Muslim woman who told you or me, a stranger on the internet. Please reach out to the ones who study about the laws and investigate. Allah knows best, may He guide us.

The thing with adoption is that for eg if I adopt someone below the age of 2, definitely I can breast feed the baby, so it’s said that after feeding him for 5 times fully he becomes your mahram. If it’s a boy and you don’t have to observe hijab in front of the boy
@qoon7689
@qoon7689 3 жыл бұрын
And the same applies to a girl, if I adopt a girl, when she grows up she has to observe proper hijab in front of my husband, but if I breastfeed that girl when she’s below 2, for 5 times completely, she automatically becomes a marham to my husband and my kids so she doesn’t have to worry about hijab and all that stuff

Fostering or being a big brother/ big sister is good. Adoption isn’t for everyone. You have to know how to be a parent and deal with baggage esp in an older child. And then there’s the whole issue of mahram. Just saying think three times before you commit. Not a product you can take back. And if in the midst of journey to adoption you have serious doubts then follow your gut.

When he says “cut off” because of losing their mother does that have any connotation of ‘cut off from the Creator’? I’m just curious! I know that’s not all it means, of course, but if it does I can understand that, to be frank. It happened to me, my brother, and separately happened to my high school friend. And I’ve seen what it can do to the shaping of ones character, if during childhood. It can do very bad things to the character of a man, genuinely. We’re not made to be without that part of us..

Prevention of later romantic incest relation. In your adoption you ligaly give the child your last name. In islam the child can not change its last name . Also DNA matches, illnesses, other brothers and sisters whi have other names than the child due to adoption etc... etc.
