The song Durdaraz by the Kazakh poet-improviser and composer Eshniyazsal Meidimululy (1834-1902) He was one of the most prominent representatives of Kui in the country. This folk song has a very lyrical text, but Dimash sings it in his native language very powerfully, almost in a fighting manner. First things first, you don’t want a sloped forehead, you want a noble forehead. (The implication being that current beauty standards don’t promote a Neanderthal look.). Don’t know how I’d respond to it as a compliment, but I’m from Canada - things could be different in Kazakhstan! The second point, I think the question from the girl is complaining that he - being Dimash - doesn’t visit her enough (why can’t she visit him instead? “You don’t come to me!”).
