STRANGER .... is from a trilogy of songs Strenger talks about rebirth (reincarnation) back on earth....in the beginning there are 9 women and 9 men....I represent 9 months of pregnancy,,, then Dimash comes out and behind him is a fingerprint....birth= Dimash he has many meanings in his songs, it's not just his voice and singing techniques....it's the messages The second song was....FLY AWAY......it's about escaping from our matrix...finding your way and living your life The third song was ..... AVE MARIA ....... it is without words because it is a universal prayer for all and for all people

I just returned from Astana, Kasachstan, where I attended 2 concerts of Dimash and the first solo concert of Olzhas Qurmanbek, the master of Kobyz whom you saw in the video, who gave his first solo concert. What an experience!!! All 3 concerts were absolutely AWESOME! Dimash is the God of vocals but his crew is a team of exquisite independent musicians as well! I can't wait for the concert of Dimash in Düsseldorf in November, sadly have to skip Prague. I got addicted. How can anybody not get addicted to them unique vocals?! Thanks for your reactions to Dimash. Let the world discover the GOAT!

He also has many playful songs where he is obviously having fun exploring vocal techniques like Neverland, Durdarai, Go Go Power Rangers, Be With Me, Give Me Your Love etc. His closest to Opera type songs include Au Fond du Temple Saint, Tu Vas Me Détruire, Passione, Ulisse etc. His Folk style songs include Samaltau, Durdaraz, I will Die for the Wind of the Mountains, Szla dziewecka do laseczka, Daididau, etc. Dimash has incredible range but his tones and versitility place him in a category all by himself.❤ Great reaction.👍 Thank you. 🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

My husband and I went to the NY concert, and I will never forget it! I can still feel the emotions roll through my body when I think about it,or hear some of his music. It’s not just the power and magic of his magnificent voice, but the power of his intention to spread hope, mercy, joy, bringing inclusivity through love for your fellow man was undeniable. That message was such a beautiful and powerful undercurrent that carried us, changed us , and as we listened we became part of the world community. I call it a concert, because I can’t find the right wording. I just know that through the voice and all that is Dimash, and being with all the Dears around me intrinsically changed me. Has anyone else who has seen him live experience anything like it?

Thanks for your reaction and analysis. He sang this LIVE. This was the premiere of the song composed by Igor Krutoy, the guy at the piano. Yes, Dimash has such a unique vocal range and versatility and all the different tone and qualities at his disposal, and he can call on each at will. The Kobyz player is Dimash’s good friend and the best Kobyz player around. Dimash always make it a point to include or incorporate the Kazakh instruments and cultural influences into his works whenever possible. Did you notice that he held that last note for about 20 seconds at full power? He is so skilled that even dropping down to his knees didn’t affect his voice at all. AMAZING. Speaking of what he would sound like as an opera singer, well, he was offered a post at Astana Opera just out of university, but he turned it down to pursue his own unique musical path. Last December, he did have a historic and dream come true opportunity to sing a duet with the living legend, Maestro Placido Domingo, performing The Pearl Fisher’s duet, when Dimash was invited by Placido to be a jury member for Virtuoso, a competition for young classical artists in Budapest, Hungary 🇭🇺 Please check that out. 😊

Great reaction! 👍 Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way” The gentleman playing the Qobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 The Qobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Qobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites.Qobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the Qobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I love these mythical sounds. You will immediately be transported into an oriental adventure film. The instrument used here is the Qobyz and it was a great idea by Dimash to use that here. The Qobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the Qobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. I love this instrument so much. It sounds gorgeous. Did you know Dimash imitates the Qobyz with his voice? There is a video on yt showing rehearsals for his Almaty concert in September 2022 on Qairan Elim. Olzhas Qurmanbek, who always plays the qobyz in Dimashs‘ songs, wasn‘t there or not yet there. Then Dimash sang the sounds of the qobyz himself. It took me a while to realize that this isn’t an instrument at all, it's Dimash‘s voice. At first I couldn’t believe it, but then I thought, Ok, it’s Dimash😄. Why am I wondering🤔😄? kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXKZnZmdhZhgmNE In the end of Stranger he introduced him to the audience and he thanked them. As a Kazakh he speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. As already mentioned, Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Next please react to Olimpico from his Arnau concert in 2019. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating. This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war😅.! It’s absolutely stunning. And I don't even mean the vocal part, but also his stage presence. The whole package. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. I swear it is mind-blowing 🤯 kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpyzhGmqbZmknZY Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

Hello, I'm going to explain all the scenery. It's not mine, it belongs to a Russian youtuber whose channel is called: Prefessor Georgievsky. Dimash leaves nothing to chance, he gets involved in everything and everything from the beginning has its meaning. At the beginning you see people with black capes, medieval style like their clothes. There are 9 women and 9 men all with lit candles. At the end of all of them is Dimash and if you look closely you see a big round light and another small flash of light. The lyrics as you say is "stranger in the land of strangers". He wants to start over but he also says that this place is familiar to him as if he had been there before but it is supposed to be the first time. When she sings after the chorus and makes those notes, the first one more serious and the second more acute that seems like a baby crying... Then she makes those two very high treble notes and at that moment, the ones with the candles put them all out. Explanation: the 9 men and the 9 women represent the 9 months of pregnancy, whether it is a boy or a girl, the candles are the "lighting". The large final sphere represents the uterus of a pregnant woman and the small flash of light is the embryo... When it makes those sharp notes as if they were crying a baby, they extinguish the candles because the "delivery" or delivery has already taken place, already the child has been born and if we go back to the words of I feel that I know this place that has been before... Meaning: REINCARNATION. In another life he has been reincarnated and lived there, I think in the medieval period and that is why he has the feeling of knowing the place. Knowing this already, you can see it again and everything will fit you. Thank you very much for your reactions. I send you a hug from Malaga, Spain. 😘

Tim, something that might interest you is that occasionally a friend or his father drops little snippets of his training regime (Dimash doesn't like interviews and rarely talks about himself) and because his voice is so trained it's practically muscle memory by now, he moved on to teaching himself how to sing in varying positions and throughout exercise. So he sings when he's jogging, playing sports, on his back and in all sorts of weird positions. Btw I watched the fancam that was livestreamed when he premiered this, it was indeed live but has had post production work done to it before transmission by Russian tv as is common, believe me, it didn't sound much different except for some breathing sounds being removed and a bit more "raw".

The strings on the kobyz and the bow are both made from many strands of horsehair, which is likely where some of the bite you mention comes into the sound. It’s also made from the heartwood of a single tree, which impacts the resonance and timbre. I love how it can produce both the delicate purity of the higher pitches on a violin as well as the more resonant pitches with so many overtones and undertones like a cello. And yet there’s still something I can’t put my finger on about the tone quality that just feels richer and more expressive than anything I’ve heard from any other stringed instrument. Dimash has said that Olzhas Qurmenbeck is the best kobyz player in the world. He’s in a position to know. Perhaps it’s the combination of this amazing instrument in the hands of a true master that somehow touches my soul so deeply every time I hear him play. The kobyz introduction to Dimash’s home studio performance of SOS for the 2020 Tokyo Jazz festival and the kobyz duet in Qairan Elim are profoundly moving. You should give both songs a listen, whether you react to them here on not.

I think this song might be one of the widest vocal ranges he's performed without flipping into whistle or going into a subharmonic growl. The vocal range here was C2 to F6.

Dimash will knock your socks off every time, it doesn’t matter what track, what genre or language. He does it every time, and every time you get a new favorite, at least until you hear the next. Dimash is unexplainable, just enjoy. By the way Dears, lets suggest him to the nobel committee. He deserves the Nobel peace price

Hi Tim I'm glad to see you taking the journey. As you know, Igor Krutoy wrote this song. It's the perfect example of why Igor left retirement to write for Dimash. Stranger is a song written for a vocalist who can sing 7.5 octaves. I doubt another vocalist on the planet can sing this like him. Due to Dimash's range, he must have songs written especially for him, as most songs are written for ranges in the 2-3 octaves. Another song to watch that shows off his range, plus enables 4 x Dimash's to sing simultaneously is 'El Amor En Ti' Sung in Spanish, I believe.

Olzhas Qurmanbek plays the kobyz, magnificent performer! Dimash had the great idea of including this ancient Kazakh instrument in the song composed by Igor Krutoy. Dimash is sooooo good!! He doesn't just sing, he gives you an out of this world experience. For the lucky ones who will be able to attend the next 2024 concerts: November 22, Prague, Czech Republic. / November 24, Düsseldorf, Germany.

Ccertain vocal effects are "rare" only because so few people explore their instruments with curiosity. Dimash has boundless curiosity and knows the voice when released will respond to his imagination.

Hi, Tim. My first time on your channel. I love everything you mentioned and certainly puts my complete approval on your analysis. I have listened to many of Dimash's songs and have made/left extensive comments on both Dimash and the different reactors. However, this time I am not commenting on anything, simply because I have found of the most beautiful and apt commentaries down below. What an amazing group of enthusiasts on this your channel. So, to everyone on this channel I feel blest to be part of this group. Blessings especially for our Dear and humble friend, Dimash for bringing us here. God bless you all and bless to Tim and this, his channel.❤
