"i take my genes personally, they define who i am" But then you say: "Are viruses life?" but they also have genetic material. So is life is about metabolism or having genetic material or both. Or is the genetic material just a definition of life?.

I think viruses arent alive because despite having DNA they aren't able to carry out processes like replication without being inside of a cell.

"Interesting" said the disembodied voice of Narnax. "Our scientists and philosophers have long pondered the question of whether cells and the organisms they construct can truly be considered alive." John raised what he considered an eyebrow. "Ours have puzzled the same question about viruses." from john Anderson's conversation with an Alkari virus in "The Virus"

In the military we have a saying "KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid" Dumb down some of these video to make it a bit easier to understand. Not everyone, myself is one of them, can understand everything you are trying to explain.
@jw71963 жыл бұрын
You guys have to be able to respond exceedingly quickly, in your operational environments. It makes sense to keep things as simple as possible when you're downrange, but then you can do plenty the untrained can't before you even get there. Training you up took longer than it takes you to watch this video, in full. Think of this as part of your training program, and career virology as an operational environment. As difficult as you think this is, expect that things can get a lot harder when you're actually in the field. If you can't even get through basic, don't expect to excel in a professional environment.

My sister taught me this when she was taking a microbiology class. She said that they were machines. What are they here for? What are their purpose? It makes no sense. They lay dormant doing nothing until they come into contact with something to replicate themselves. Then what happens to them later? Where is the Spanish flu? Is it still hanging around? I heard that you could remove a rainforest section that hasn’t been bothered for thousands of years and release one of these dormant machinery out into the population to do its thing. Now I’m hearing that a virus infects people and get weaker and weaker as they go through people. I also hear that they mutate. All of that makes you wonder why? What is its purpose?

If viruses aren’t alive how do they appear in the first place? Are they dormant cells already lying around that eventually we just happen to pick up and then the virus is able to carry out a cycle of infection and mutation, or does the virus cell come from somewhere like how is the protein layer formed around it if it’s not alive? Where is the genetic material originating from? So many questions

I also write my own genetic coding utilizing my bliss moments and my toroidal waveform patterns. this is important for becoming evolved. if you don't know what im talking? Look. Look.... you need to look too have a real idea if wanting more in life then you got at this time. especially when you have man made lab created viral infections roaming thee world. will i get sick? Not bloody likely. Never again. Not when i take all steps neccessary to EAT the virus instead of getting eaten BY it.

Hi, so I have question about viruses. Do viruses need energy for certain things, if yes where do they get this energy from and why can't they generate their own energy? Senna
@Toennesen5 жыл бұрын
Hello everyone, I have a question about PCR detection of a virus of other mikroorganism. I have been searching for the answer i both my books and on the web but not been able to find at clear answer. It's probably fairly easy to answer, i just what to be completely sure so i wont get a question wrong for the exam this summer. I know how the PCR tecnique works and obviously you should use reverse-transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR) for all the RNA virusses. My question goes: You want to detect a virus and found out which virus infection a patient have. You take a sample from where you assume the virus will be, maybe feces or saliva. Then you run your PCR or RT-PCR, but don't you have to run multiple PCR's with different samples because you don't know which virus it is? furthermore you must have specific primers for the virusses you suspect the patient is infected with. Am i totally wrong? the after you've run PCR, then what do you do? you have an amplified virus genome, but don't you need to do some sequencing to identify which exact virus the patient has? In other words how does the identification of a virus with PCR work?

The endocytosis is right but simplified. When a microorganism devours a particle like a virus it’s more called a “pinocytosis.” But bigger components like nutrition from organic compounds is called phagocytosis.
