If your father wants to sponsor you, that is totally fine. Make sure to explain it in your Study Plan and on your bank statements. The longer the money has been in your account, the better. But in general not a problem if someone sponsors you, as long as you explain it and have the sponsor write a letter as well.

I used to work in China. Over the years I sent money back home. My dad opened a small clinic. He sold it and helped me with $20,000. So there's one bulk deposit. Later my mom and brother also made two separate bulk deposits. I'm going to do one year course with 6 month co-op. So I paid the full tuition fee + $24000 upfront as living costs to my GIC for the whole duration of my studies. Question: am I in the clear or it's still insufficient proof of funds ? He could, just like someone from your home country can be your sponsor. He can only be a financial support of course. You need to have detailed explanation how and why he will sponsor you, proof everything with banks statements, proof of income, etc. I would also not rely on only one sponsor for all proof of funds. It is always better to have several types and sources, also your own funds as the student. Tuition receipts, GIC etc.

What constitutes as a bulk deposit? 10k CAD? 5k CAD? 2 deposits of 5k CAD per month? Thank you 🙏

It is relative to how much you need in total or how much you already had in your Bank account. Lets say you need 50K in total. You had 10K in your account for a long time and then 1 month before you print the statement you have one deposit of 40K. That would be a large deposit. In general try to avoid having relatively large deposits close to the statement date (you need to show 4 months of history) and always explain the where the funds are coming from in your LOE.

If you have most of the funds in your account with 4+ months history, that should be okay. You just don't want to show any big fund movements in the last 2-4 months. Especially not without explaining it in your Study Plan.

Your father can sponsor you of course, as long as you provide all the back up, letter from him how and why he will sponsor you, bank certificates where are the funds coming from etc.

You will definitely need statements showing the transaction history of at least the last 4 month. Without that it will not count.

Hi Ronel, yes that is possible po basta enough din ung fund ni sponsor and kaya mag provide the supporting documents.

How much is considered to be a bulk deposit?

It is relative. If your needed POF is $30k and there is a $25K deposit that is a bulk deposit. Most important is that for large deposits you have explanation and back up where the funds came from.
