What I learned and invented: Poplar wood for the box. If the box is made of hard wood it can be entirely coated with beer mat cardboard, corners and edges rounded with the cardboard bend. Good luck to all the diy guys and giggles.

Habe ähnliche Lautsprecher gebaut einmal mit einen Tang band w3 2142 und einmal mit tang band w6 2144 . Das kleine paar mit dem W3 ist das TQWT Gehäuse ca 85cm hoch und ca 20cm tief und 10cm breit steht aber auf einem Sockel so das der Treiber ca 100cm hoch ist (in etwas Ohrhöhe sitzend . Beim dem paar mit den w 6 2144 ist das TQWT Gehäuse deutlich gewachsen auf 136 Cm Höhe 42cm tiefe und 20cm breite . Die Bassreflexöffnungen sind nach hinten gerichtet und unten über die gesamte Breite gebaut aber nur ca 1,8cm hoch bzw 4cm . Beide Lautsprecher paare haben noch einen Sperrkreis erhalten der den Hochton etwas zurück nimmt damit dieser nicht zu vorlaut wird . Die kleine geht bis ca 60hz (-3db) runter und die Große auch kaum tiefer bis ca 50 hz (-3 db) da für mehr bass ich das Gehäuse noch höher hätte bauen müssen (ca 160cm ) nur würde es in meinem kleinen Wohnzimmer nicht viel Vorteile bringen . Wirkungsgrad der großen bei ca 88Db/1 watt /1m und die Kleine ca 84 Db Watt /M . Die Große klingt deutlich voluminöser aber auch im Hochton etwas schärfer ohne dabei zu nerven die kleine ist erstaunlich erwachsen steht der größeren in nichts nach ist einfach nur leiser was nachts sehr von Vorteil ist da Nachbarn nicht genervt werden trotz leicht gehobener Zimmerlautstärke .

BG20いいですね。というか箱がいいのかな。とてもチャンネルあたり1万円くらい？で出来るスピーカーの音じゃないと思います。どのソースも超ハイファイの生きた音楽として伝わってきます。

I have a pair of richard allan 8cgt speakers I found at a thrift store with some other random drivers. fs-70hz qms- 7.03 Qes- .7 Sd - 31.416 Qts- .637 Vas= 38.8 liter spl- 94.58db freq- 55-17khz cone diameter 19cm voice coil 2.54cm width 20.3 cm height - 9.2cm input 6w max power 12w No- 1.80% Cms - 8.90 M/N Mms- 5.80gms Bl- 5.05 w b/M Density - 14000 Gauss= 56.000 Do you think these boxes are too big? As far as T/S parameters are concerned, I think it can be used without any problem. The relation between "cone diameter 19 cm" and "width 20.3 cm" is strange. A normal 8" full range has a cone diameter of about 17 cm.

Do you use a cross-over? Would it be possible to use the Visaton B-200 driver instead?

@@frausing666 My personal opinion is that full ranges are just super-midranges. In fact they should be called as wide-ranges.. No driver is actually "full-range". It depends on the amount of ideological purism of the full-range enthusiast to employ any kind of filter to flatten the frequency response curve. (As far as I am concerned there are digital signal processors that can do it much more successfully) I think with today's technology and prices the most optimum thing to do is to use an active crossover (with proper audiophile grade Op Amps) and three different amplifiers for a pair of full ranges (wide - ranges) , a pair of super tweeters, and a pair of sub/woofers . Visatons are a bit too big for 3 way applications I would prefer 6,5 inch as a maximum for mids .. 5,5 inch may be best size .. 4 inch also good. 3.5 inch a bit too small Personally I like Diatone P610 clones (6,5 inch). There are a lot of Chinese options for the smaller sizes. Flat response is a good thing. But the real value is the sensitivity. Sensitivity is the key to get hi fi sound from a cheap driver and a weak amplifier. It is reachable luxury today.

サブシステム用にこのスピーカーを作ろうかと思うのですが、ダクトの位置が疑問です。TQWT では管を5:1に内分する辺りに（この構造では背面下部辺りに）ダクトが来るんじゃないんですか？

openbaffle3さんのチャンネル、長いこと更新がないので心配してました。 TQWTは2シリーズを展開しています。 ①TQWT(ML-Voigt Pipe)with Damp-Duct ※一般的なTQWTの開口部をダンプダクト化したものです。 ②Tapered Wave Tube with Damp-Duct ※開口部をオフセットしたTQWT（Qの部分が微妙な動作）です。各イメージ図が下リンクに置いてあります。 sites.google.com/view/low-end-diy-loudspeaker/home

なるほど。こちらは①の系列なんですね。ダクトをオフセットすると音がこもりそうなイメージが個人的にはあるので、こちらの方がむしろいいかも。ドライバーは手持ちのSICA 20cmフルレンジで行こうと思っています。（能率・駆動力が高く音も気に入っています。）板は最近薄い方がいいような感じがして、12mmにしようかなと考え中です。ご心配いただいて恐縮です。

SICAの20cmは良さそうですね。見た目もお値段もGOOD！！！（残念ながら音は聴いたことありません）共鳴系の箱だと薄板で箱を鳴かせる方法もありですね。むしろそっちの方が好きだったりします(笑) オフセットダクトですが籠ることはありませんし共鳴系のクセも少ないです。特にアコースティック系の再生は一般的なTQWTに圧勝ですよ(^^)

圧勝と聞いて、②のタイプで作ってみたくなりました。ただ20㎝ユニットだとサブロク２枚に収まりにくいかもですね。

上で紹介した図面倉庫サイトに20cm用TWTDを追加しておきました。コスパ重視なので三六板1枚で1台取れる設計です。鳴りっぷり重視の①タイプ、滑らかさ重視の②タイプです、お好みでど～ぞ。
