I'm glad it has 4 buttons. Really annoyed that the MVSX had 6 buttons. Neo Geo never had 6 buttons.

Yeah but the configuration of those 4 buttons was all over the place throughout the world. So I get why they did it.

I wonder how player 2 operates. Perhaps it's a USB connection for compatible controllers similar to the Partycade

Definitely via USB but if you press 2P with many credits, you get 2nd player in the game (regardless of having a 2p controller)

Haha, I'm an idiot. 😆 I got the visco 3 days ago and saw that the same PCB was installed as in the Tron retro station. I thought, never mind give it a try and put the FLYNNS mod on the USB stick. The Visco also recognized the update, but got stuck in the boot screen. now I just get the Unico logo and that's it. I'm an idiot, but no risk, no fun.😏Maybe i put a Raspberry in this mini cab, thing the original Hardware are lost after my attempt.

Have you tried contacting Unico about your issue? Obviously don’t tell them how it happened but maybe they can send you a fix or something for it?

@@neocvera No, I didn't do that, but it's not a bad thing, I was a bit annoyed by the original software. Every time after switching off the device forgot the language settings. But I would be interested to know if there isn't an LCD controller for the display? I think it should be the same as in the Countercades, but I'm not sure.

Looks great design-wise. I really like the blue light-up marquee! Would be interesting to see it next to the MVS X.

Hi, do you manage to position your hand correctly on the buttons? there is very little space to put your hand ..

Actually there’s plenty of space - maybe even too much spacing for the buttons.

Today I received one unit for Euro 149,00 from the latest Amazon sale. No fun playing because you if you like to rest your left palm on the control panel it gets real uncomfortable because there's not enough space to put it on the flat surfcae of the control panel. Instead you have to rest it on the edged side panel rim. Will return it immedieatley.

Interesting, but the further away from a NeoGeo look it gets, the less I like it... should have stuck with the 4-game marquee, to start. That screen is WAY too small, as well. Almost a deal-breaker right there, I'd say.

Yeah that's been a constant criticism of this device since the early images. Screen to body ratio is off for sure.

Looks cool, finally coming out today on Amazon. I just wish it had a 6 buttons layout to be easily mod. For £200 in 🇬🇧 uk pounds 💷 with just 12 games is expensive for a 8inch screen 😢

Nice dude! I would love to thinker with one, maybe try to flash it and add some rom packs. Also it can be featured on a channel that I own 50% of call Retro Game Corps (our host is really good). Any idea on how we could get our hand on one? Either way thank you once again for the vid! Since your reddit post I've been waiting for this. It's not a perfect device, but it does stand out when compared to the crowd of extremely flawed aliexpress mini arcades.

BTW there's no battery in it right? Because that's probably the first hardware mod I would do, just like I did with one of my Neo Geo Minis, the Capcom one, and the horizontal Astro mini (I was planning to do one for the Taito Egret too). It's small enough that, at least for me, I would use it more if it's battery powered just for the convenience. Probably not a wireless charger though with this one though.

@@neocvera Hey thanks for the reply! Yeah it definitely would imho. Do you note what it is rated for in terms of voltage and amp? Hopefully it's not 12V like the Capcom one, as it required more modding to bring that down...

@@Unholy_Louie looks to be the same - in fact, looking at the power adapter - its got the "RETRO STATION" branding on it. Its more blocky that what came with my capcom device but has "RETRO STATION" branding and 12v - 2a

@@neocvera Ah well it's not so bad, since it looks like it's going to be the identical mod I did last year with the CRS. I even have all the parts I need already. I'm sure that there's more than enough empty space too for the high capacity low profile battery that I use; the additional board is really small as well. The only difference is that I'm not going to install a wireless receiver for a charger on this one. I'll do the more common thing and simply use the DC port to charge the battery, and maybe an additional bridge for direct power. Fun stuff! Let us know if one can be ordered at some point if you can :D

Its a right in the middle annoying size format. It looks like it's hiding a 16/9 display behind that bezel which is annoying and break the curves, and the menu feels cheap. The worst of all worlds.
