I love the size of this grill I have the extra large green egg and it takes so much Lump charcoal and controlling the temperatures have been challenging and variable. I’m enjoying watching your videos keep up the good work.

You're absolutely right Stan. The larger the kamado, the more lump charcoal we find we go through as well. We have a larger kamado that easily uses up double the fuel of this Vision model, and we love having both options depending on what the recipe calls for. Glad you're enjoying the channel!

Need a stoker system I made one for my large grill dome kamado with a pc case fan and a cheap Ebay temp controller for under $25 total Holds within 5f usually dead on and will run over 24hrs without touching the charcoal

I've watched a lot of videos looking for information, reviews, etc. on many products including multiple grilling/bbq appliances. You sir have NAILED it with your style and commentary. No fluff, no buff, just the information necessary for an "uninformed" person to make a relevant decision. THANK YOU for making a clean, well thought, and well produced video for the masses. I wish others would follow your lead. I don't need videos that take 25 minutes to describe what could be said and done in 5. I'll be following for sure! P.S. I'm seriously interested in buying one of these grills, (already have an electric smoker, and a home built Drum smoker, but they've each got drawbacks that prevent me from using them as often as I'd like. This looks like the solution to all of them (assuming the results are as good as I hear). Maybe the next video takes that into consideration, or maybe you already have and I just need to go search for them. Thanks again.

I'm in the process of researching for my first new grill in about 10 years. This video was excellent in production and information. concise and to the point on the grill, it's benefits, and how to get the best out of the grill. Vision should hire you to produce their ads... J/S...

I have the same grill & left it outside without covering it during a rain storm. Now the wood sides show visible cracks which I also noticed on yours. How can that be fixed? Has anyone else had this problem? Great video, by the way…informative and to the point!

So for longer cooks how do you ensure you have enough fuel? Can you just add more charcoal when needed?

We just bought one. I have had several grills over the years. Metal grills just don’t last. Hope this works out for us.

Thanks for the video! I got an unused Kamado Classic B from a friend and am making preparations to use it for the very first time. It did not come with a heat deflector. I want to purchase one but want to make sure I get the correct size/one that works with my grill. When I search on Amazon, most mentions are for Kamado Joe, which I'm not sure if that is the same size as my Classic B. Also, when you cook pizza, do you put it right on the porous lava stone?
@TheBarbecueLab
@TheBarbecueLab 4 ай бұрын
You can put pizza directly on the lava stone, it's just a little small to do large pizzas on it. You'll just need to keep them to a smaller size. Finding the proper sized deflector plate, I'd visit the Vision Grills website and find the dimensions of their factory grate. Once you know that, you can make a decision on which you'd like to get, but the lava stone is designed to be used as the heat deflector in this grill. You should have gotten an X bracket with the grill that the lava stone sits on underneath the cooking grate. That's the factory deigned deflector for Vision Grills.

Only thing making me hesitate from switching from a offset is the wheels. Those weeks are so small and the legs aren't connected. I live in a apt complex and I need to be able to roll my grill in and out with ease. Also there's a step where I keep my grill now. I would probably have to build a ramp for the Kamado to get it over the step. It just doesn't seem as mobile

Great vid, had it for 2 yrs and never got it to smoke temps (250-275) always goes to 325 (steady), even with both top and bottom vent closed. So i only use it to grill. Now with this vid, I can try to enjoy and smoke again, thank you and subbed!

Hi David - how many burgers can you get on the B-series kamado grill? Great review!
@TheBarbecueLab
@TheBarbecueLab 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mitchell, this model is the medium size kamado which is hard to come by anymore. Most of what Vision has out there now is the Large size, and you can fit quite a bit more than what this Medium would fit. Which size are you considering?
@TheBarbecueLab
@TheBarbecueLab 4 жыл бұрын
Mitchell, it looks like the Large size 2 Tier grills are sized at 29 burgers and the Medium size would be 19-20 if it has 2 tiers. For a single tier, just cut the number in half and that's about what you're looking for.

If you put a thermocouple at the rack level the thermometer in the lid will be about 50f higher usually

Figuring out how to make the small adjustments has been a struggle so far for extended cooks. Doing wings and chicken, no problem at all.

I hear you Chris. My first few months with my first kamado was trying to be certain for low and slow cook temperatures. I'll have to shoot a video on fire and temperature management for kamados soon. It took me awhile to nail it down, but now it's second nature. I'll have to see if I can put that in video form. Thanks for the idea!

I've had mine for 6-7 years. Grill is fine but the stand fell apart when I went to move the grill today. The grill is ok, just some damage to the finish. Stand is complete garbage.

I don't think its good I have to some how seal the bottom vent because it leeks so much , I can have it closed.I cant control temps it runs away even having the top vent about closed.

I don't have any problem keeping this grill in the 200 to 225 range. Just light a small portion of your coals before shutting the vents down to control the temperature.
@doddgarger6806
@doddgarger6806 4 жыл бұрын
Have to learn how to light these it takes only a little bit of lit coals to keep 250f and keeping the dampers pretty close to closed I tried to light my akorn jr with a full chimney 🤣 yeah you just don't need a chimney with a kamado unless you are after blazing temps for steaks and are in a hurry which takes away from the fun in my opinion
