I watched this Documentary when it was aired in 1992-3. I recorded it and played it over and over. It was about some lad who'd died from taking ecstasy. Even at 12 years old, rather than putting me off it, just made me want to go to a rave even more! lol.

Being right into rave music back then and still listen,i recorded this program off channel 4 i believe, i loved the tunes on it and me and my best pal (RIP Magoo, another Scag victim) we watched this all the time being 17 and wishing we had the money to go from Glasgow to England when these raves happened. There was another documentary about this rave, "Robert was a nice boy,never took drugs or anything" usual spiel from family,loads of flyers on wall, found dead by side of road shame of course.

Was it really that long ago!! I was fortunate enough to be on the XL Recordings VIP bus, there were spectacular lasers bounced off the clouds and it rained!! and rained!! and rained!! I remember watching (and recording) this documentary at the time. The rave scene was very negatively portrayed in it. I recall that in the clips before the rave began, they recorded one of the security guards saying "the toilets will be there, that's where the main dealers will be... ooh oh, forgot we were being recorded!" The producers cut between clips of people saying how many pills they had done with an interview with the family of the boy who died. My favourite bits: 03:45 - Paul from Barnsley - "do 'em again!" 06:39 - the 2 Henriettas roughing it with the plebs - "its really excellent!" 08:31 - that girl dancing. Nice!

Remember all the hype about this in the Midlands at the time and so had to go. So off we hitched and made this a part of a great bank holiday weekend had at Weymouth with no 'grafting' involved. Rain didn't bother us so must of been in love at the time Yo!!

I was there. I thought it was shit. The production was the biggest let down ever. What happened to the promised Blade Runner film set? Massively over-hyped. As for this documentary, it was the worst bit of negative propaganda ever. They used fairly clued-up reporters to goad the ravers into admitting how many pills they'd munched, included footage of people gurning their tits off and cast it in the worst possible light. The amount of parents who watched this and said "so this is what you get up to when you go to these things?". Talk about bringing it on top... :(

Too many casuals at this one. Most of the big outdoor raves in 92 had way more at them than they were licensed for (16,000 at Matchams, 30,000 at Donington) but this was just mental with 40,000 in attendance. It started well but became increasingly moody as the night went on.

If my memory serves me correctly, Vision always put on moody events, this one at Popham had a weird atmosphere as the night grew on, and the rain really killed what spirit was left in anyone. The Vision event in Wisbech was not much better, that had a bad atmosphere and a lot of it was down to security not doing their job properly, whom im pretty sure came from Top Guard, who were the most vile security firm around at the time! I think i preferred the wisbech rave more, but only because it was in a warehouse under cover, and i knew half of the people there anyway because wisbech was my home town, but there were more better parties than these, Vision were fucking shite to be honest!
