Vision Pro + ALVR + DCS = Mixed Reality with hands!

This is my first attempt at building ALVR for Vision Pro and using it with DCS. I was rendering at 3040 width per eye, using HEVC encoding at 100mbps on a WiFi6 router that was connected directly to the PC via ethernet.
When I get in the cockpit you'll notice that I reset the VR head position many times until I line up my finger with the DDIs. My throttle isn't perfectly positioned yet.

How's the clarity? How is the FOV? Latency didn't seem so bad, right?

Based on the 30fps capture on the VP, the response from physical button activation seems like 2 frames, so about 66 milliseconds latency. Not a problem for flight sims.

Are you using quadviews? the resolution seems a little wack sometimes, or is that just the way the VP records?

steamvr makes dcs and msfs run slow. nowadays most people use ony openxr only. I see u are running steamvr and this ALVR app. can you run ALVR without steamvr?

Unfortunately ALVR seems reliant on SteamVR. I wish it could be set as the OpenXR runtime. Until then I'm crossing my fingers that Virtual Desktop's visionOS client is released soon.

Seen the hand only is a Vision Pro thing or alvr? Can I do that with quest 3?

Hand and arm pass through is a visionOS capability. I’ve never seen something similar in Quest’s OS.

@@TimDashwood You can do something similar, but it requires overlapping a colored pink bubble where the hand tracking is, which allows passthrough similar to how a greenscreen works. Its not perfect, but its coming along.
