This is the type of conversation I wish more people in the goth community would have. When I first got in to the music and fashion as a kid it was because it connected with me and felt like the most honest reflection of who i am as a person. I know this is true for a lot of others too but i wish that people could just enjoy the music and fashion more without constantly having to justify themselves as "being goth" it seems like people that do that care too much about what others think of them. If you love something then love it and don't give a shit what others think. This was an incredibly well done interview and Dusty seems like such a genuine and intelligent person! :)

I'm 31 and have always been into the alternative styles, I listen to all kinds of music, I like witchy stuff, vampires, and all spooky/horror things. .. I slowly started getting into the goth subculture and genre music a few years ago and I'm still learning more and hearing more music. I can agree about the gatekeeping thing, a few months ago I was called a poser by a complete stranger that knows nothing about me. Lol.
