I've been playing it more over the past week and yes, I think so! I even played on Steam Deck and get a mostly locked 720p 30fps, with some obvious cut backs.

Pause at 0:40. This is terrible, unclear and redundant writing, masquerading as depth. We will just start with the first stanza: "The alms are necessary to preserve a future for the whole world." Why are they necessary? To preserve "a future"? You mean a "good" future? Or just a future in general? The world just disappears without "the alms"? Etc... And it just gets worse from there. "No one fights against their fate if they themselves choose to bare it." Yeah? This isn't saying anything. I don't have patience for this trash writing. I expect better from a story. I won't insult myself by paying money for this. It just makes me mad. I wanted this game to be good. Why hire a writer that is this incompetent?

The second sentence is saying Hinna thinks she shouldn't be against her sacrifice because she willingly accepted it, seems like she wasn't forced. As for the "future" sentence, it's actually interesting to think about it because yeah, they're not saying if the world stops existing or what exaclty happens, wheter we find out or not is part of the fun because we don't know for sure if Hinna and the others will just sacrifice themselves. From what we've seen, looks like we will find out because no one wants to die and the characters pretty much say it in the trailers.

In the demo on the Ps5, hinna literally writes “I don’t know what will happen to the world without the earth/wood(can’t remember which) alm” bcs the village that gives birth to them was destroyed similar to how Morley’s village was also destroyed, meaning that alms essentially sacrifice themselves to keep the elements around by offering themselves to the mana tree. The message abt accepting fate, this is hinna’s diary. We know from the trailers that she develops more and more of a longing to live, however early on she grew up and expected to be sacrificed to help keep the fire elements around. It doesn’t need to be meaningful bcs she hasn’t really started to develop that will yet, or you could give it meaning in that in accepting fate she needs to be the one to bare it. Bare could mean multiple things, her wanting to live or sacrificing herself, she would need to deal with the cost of the fire elemental disappearing or what happens to Val after she dies
