I love, love, love this home!! I’m happy to see something other than an all-white kitchen and more woods, even if they are on the lighter side. The tile is beautiful, and it was very interesting how they installed it all the way to the ceiling. I can see why the homeowners bought this house with the windows in the back, but I would have to turn the sofas around where they viewed the outside.

I cannot BELIEVE THIS TRANSFORMATION! Hold on I just fainted. Okay I still cannot fathom how this house went from a dark brown little bungalow to... THIS! I know, it must have taken a TON of MONAYYY and TIME that no one has much of either... but they tackled it, and I am (I can't believe I'm going to use this word) SHOOK. I do love the simplicity and useful beauty of the "Scandinavian" TYPE style of things/wood/lighting... It is not overpowering but purposeful to keep the spaces open and uncomplicated. I LOVE the wallpaper with the rabbits and things :) I love most how much BIGGER and happier the space has become, even OUTSIDE in both the front and back! I am 62 and my husband of 42yrs and I haven't even found our "forever" home yet. But I hope when we do we will be able to transform it into an oasis we can enjoy until... Thank you so much House and Home another gobstopping video!

I still don't understand how people wear their outside shoes inside?? All the dirt and debris from the outside just comes in. How hard is it to switch into comfy home slippers. Less cleaning and maintains the floors longer!!!

@@MStar10 I live in Indiana. I never change shoes when I get home; I've done it this way all my life, and most people I know do the same. It wouldn't occur to me to change shoes or remove them when I come in. And, it isn't easy; it would be a lot of trouble to constantly take my shoes off, use a shoe horn to get them back on, tied, etc. I'm in and out a lot; my shoes don't just slip on, so it really just isn't practical. I live alone. My floors stay clean enough for me. Sure, if you got down with a microscope you'd see all the filth. But, because my shoes always stay on, there's no problem.

And, I was also thinking about, this being a very small town, you aren't going to have the dirty sidewalks and streets that you get with millions of people walking on them all day, spitting, dropping food (and worse) that you get in, say, New York City. Don’t love the kitchen tile. There are 5 different finishes in that kitchen, seems disconnected to me. Wood and painted and skip the white. The terrace is stunning.

Not nearly as Scandi as it seems they think it is. Has far too much dark and chunky stuff. The bones of the house are wonderful, though! Lovely job! I'd love to see it re-furnished and that grey tile-brick wall re-done to be light and fresh. Too dark and gloomy as it is.

I personally can’t stand kitchens in the living room. It’s a fashion whose time is almost up. They’re just beginning to do a lot of research on indoor air pollution and it’s looking a lot like the kitchen is a tremendous generator of unhealthy pollution that should really be in a totally closed room with its own, separate ventilation system. Plus, open plan kitchens correlate well with obesity, because a kitchen that is always in view triggers cravings and the desire to forage, when the healthy thing to do is to put eating “out of mind” for significant fractions of the day (Google “time-restricted eating”).
