Luke, I really love your videos! I have watched multiple videos of Churchill, and this is one of the best! Are you still over here in Churchill? Thank you for filming about such a small, remote place! It really needs more videos about it, it's truly a amazing place! And thank you for talking about the tracks washing away, not a lot of people did that. The tracks washing away just proves how hard life is up in the north.

I came upon this video by happenstance and I'm glad I did! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about how you got to Churchill, Churchill itself, and more so, the polar bears!! I've shared it with my grandaughter, a high school student who lives in eastern Washington, over 2300 miles away from where I live in Alaska. Wishing you safe travels, and very much looking forward to watching more of your videos. Now I can do some vicarious traveling, via your channel. 😁

Thanks Jerry, they do have very sad and limited food options for an inflated price, you have to pay for everything, they've suspended regular food service "due to covid", they've suspended use of the skyline dome car "due to covid", even though it's still connected to the train. The train finally did stop in Thompson, Manitoba where I was able to buy some groceries

PBI is a group of scientists and researchers and there's a hierarchy scale to getting attention and a positive response with groups like this, and unfortunately I as a single non-funded independent dude fall pretty low on the response scale

awesome video!!! I always wanted to go to Churchill but Polar Bear tours are insanely expensive when were you there? how much was the train ticket? & did you have to book it far in advance?
@lifeofluke
@lifeofluke 3 жыл бұрын
The tundra buggy tours run about $500/day - that was out of my budget so I didn't do one. Train was $600 round trip, booked a couple weeks in advance as the train can fill up. There's less people visiting Churchill this year as normally everything is completely full during bear season.
@ambulyd

why so less views? nice documentary. how is a trip cost approximately including everything - stay food etc?
@lifeofluke

Wonderful video! Do you think that, because you arrived during Polar Bear Season (the busiest time of year for PBI, the tour companies and the CNSC) and the fact that, because of the pandemic travel restrictions, they are all so short staffed was maybe the reason no one had the time to speak with you?
@lifeofluke
@lifeofluke 3 жыл бұрын
They had time because maybe 10-20 people came through the PBI house every day, so it's not an issue with time. As for the others, they couldn't be bothered to respond to an email
