With the hanging houses (casas colgadas) and a number of museums, churches and quaint small streets the historic center of Cuenca can easily fill a day trip for any tourists.

I missed also the nature. Cuenca has tons of it. Not very far from Cuenca you can find the Cuenca`s Enchanted City (ciudad encantada de Cuenca), a natural landmark where wind and water has sculpted rocks during millennia to build fantastic sculptures.

a little off topic, but remember a few videos back when you asked us why we thought your subscriptions boomed? well I thought about it and I would say that you are very gregarious, and you guys always look like you're just having fun and are genuinly enjoying yourself. that positive energy is very attractive and infectious, and I think people noticed that in time. lastly your content is real, authentic and not packed with a lot of BS. it's practical and we can relate. sounds simple but not everybody can do that. so hope that helps, peace out.

+Wolters World I read this AM that the AVE high speed leaves Atocha Station every hour and is only 50 minutes to Cuenca to the lower new town but a bus is literally in the parking lot taking you to historic Cuenca...or catch a taxi of course. Get to Cuenca by 9AM, depart 7PM. For a small town like Cuenca, that seems pretty ideal to me. 👍

My friend and I did that. We arrived there around 10AM and took a 7PM train back to Madrid. We had fun and it wasn't overwhelming without a car! If you don't have kids or elderly with you, it's very doable.

Would you say that this town is on par with Toledo as far as rustic towns in Spain? I used your 10 best towns in Spain for my base itinerary, and I know this didn't make it on there.

Is there any kind of remorse in Europe about the churches that are not in use, but rather just museums? Or is that a misconception? I have traveled to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and that seemed to be the case. Is the "Christian Church" alive and active in Europe or not would you say? Thanks...love your videos.
