Before Partition Kasur was Big Junction with Lines to Firozpur & Amritsar. The Amritsar Patti Railway Company Limited was a Private Company incorporated on 12 April 1905. The 27 miles (43 km) broad gauge (BG) from Amritsar to Patti opened in 1906 and worked by North Western Railway(NWR). In 1910 the line was extended to Kasur bringing the line length to 54 miles (86 km) & making Kasur a Big Junction station. The Punjab Mail from BombayMumbai to Peshawar via Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra, Delhi, Bhatinda, Firozpur, Kasur, Lahore Junction used to run through Kasur Tehsil railway station. The Train is Still running in India from BombayMumbai to Firozpur.

Train from Khemkaran to Amritsar is still functional on this Railway track. My grandparents had traveled many times from Kasur to Jandoke Railway Station before the partition. I have heard many good things from them about the days before 1947.

Thanks for showing. But it has been ruined so badly. It is a district HQ now. I belong to Patti and has traveled a lot on Amritsar Khemkaran line where kasur line from Amritsar ends now. But stations on our side are not that bad. The partition has ruined many cities, Sialkot, narwal, Pathankot, Batala, Patti, Khemkarn, Firozpur, Fazilka ets. Had then no partition, Amritsar and lahore were bigger than Delhi. Kasur Khemkaran would have joined today. Frontier mail now starts from Amritsar and Punjab mail from Firozpur. Before 47 both started from peshawar. Is Azadi de barbad yaro, hoe tusi vi ho, hoe assi vi ha. Lali akha di pai dasdi e roe tusi vi ho roe assi vi ha. Ustad Daman ji ne sach hi kiha. Jeonde raho, dono PB de Punjabio.

When ever i visit to my inner city rawalpindi and stare those old buildings which is built before partition. One of my favourite building is which is built in 1934 and also placed a tall lamp pole which shows the way to people far coming from. Lot of old buildings in Teli mohala, sarafa bazar, near kametti chowk and around raja bazar rawalpindi. I am wishing to visit one day to discover old Indian places where were our elder families spend their lives. Some times i watch old Indian pujabi movies to explore our old time. Sometimes i wish i was born in to old time to spend time with our elders. Thank you brother sharing this video.

Frontier Mail , a very prestigious train during British times started by B B C I R - Bombay Baroda Central India Railway ). It ran between Colaba ( Bombay / Mumbai of today ) and Landi Kotal ( Peshawar )in NWFP - North West Frontier Province ( now in Pakistan ). At Colaba terminus , Frontier Mail's timings coincided with timings of Passenger ships ( P and O - Peninsula and Oriental ) which anchored at Colaba jetty along with Rail terminus of Frontier Mail. Passengers ( mostly Britishers ) would disembark from the train and board the Ship gangway ( right adjacent ) to the train and vice versa.One side of platform railway , other side ship anchorage. After 1947 sea travel gave way to travel by air. The Railway line between Churchgate tation and Colaba ( in Mumbai ) was removed. Now the train ( Golden Temple Express ) runs between Amritsar Station and Bombay Central ( Mumbai ).

Here we have a train that runs between Amritsar and Dehradun earlier it used to go till Lahore, it is still called lahori express..

Previously as my grandfather tell me that he goes to Dhariwal and Pathankot for purchase the Woolen clothes and Blankets from Kasganj by Mathura(metre gauge) or via Hathras (broad gauge) for Amritsar - Pathankot route. * those days Jullundher to Pathankot route was not constructed*. Passenger to Jammu and Kashmir from Delhi or Bombay have to follow the Amritsar - Pathankot route from their buses. To Jammu and then to Katra for Vaishno Devi shrine 🙏🙏.
