Beautiful. I have always been drawn to Nefertari and her tomb for whatever reason. 'Nefer', in ancient Egyptian, means 'beautiful' and 'tari' means 'companion'. Ramesses the second had a number of wives but he loved her the most.

This is a symbol of just how much Rameses II loved her. She died when they were still both relatively young. Such a beloved queen…..yet the people still raided her tomb and took her away….couldn’t even let her rest undisturbed. :( As one with Egyptian blood this is very sad.

To your statement about lighting, with such great detail in building the tomb and its artwork, it seems that lighting was not an issue at all for the Egyptians, whatever they used.

Amazing!!!! Such artistic styling should be modernized in modern Egyptian architecture... And perhaps military aesthetic designs plans (exterior drone design). 💛 This wonderful place is clearly the product of high-sentient human beings. Unintelligent [feelers], let alone narcissits could never create something like this. That vibe of that place feels sacred. 🙏 To think that it has without the passage of time for literally long than a millennium... Wow! thank you, this was awesome.And to the comment below regarding the time it would take to do all the art work, is increased by the cramped quarters and the limited number of workers that could work at the same time. It appears lighting was not an issue Seems like you never see any smut or any of that like if you are burning a fire in such confined spaces And if they did everything in low light I’d bet they would really be excited to see their work lit up like that today Or maybe not Maybe they would think it’s a curse to be in there Idk

Imagine being looked at as more than human, obviously the ego gets bloated, it's curious that there's hundreds of the same image of her, if you didn't know her story you'd think she was insane, she was just a human being, like all the kings, but the psyche and ego can get carried away, even small power gets corrupted
@Khenfu_Cake2 жыл бұрын
It was Ramesses 2nd, her husband, who constructed this tomb for Nefertari. It also was more than just ego (although that most certainly also played a part; after all the pharaoh was literally perceived as a mortal incarnation of gods like Amon, Horus and Osiris, Nefertari was depicted as Hathor in her tomb) it was a matter of ensuring an afterlife. The name and body were believed to house parts of the different aspects of the soul. If someone was forgotten or their body destroyed they would be consigned to oblivion and essentially be denied access to the afterlife. So this was basically a form of afterlife insurance.
