Hi Stephanie, I think the reason why "doing it ourselves" has gained 100K subscribers in 5 weeks is the fact that they have the word "DIY" and "baking" in their description box. I am guessing that is the reason why I got "doing it ourselves" in my youtube feed in the first place. I like DIY and baking videos, and a lot of people with me. I think you should try and add the word "DIY" "restoring" " renovation" "construction" "cooking" "castle" (instead of chateau), "baking" and "fun" in the fixed description box below your videos. That will allow the algorithmic recommendations to show automatically your content to people who are interested in those topics ? It is worth a try. I really like your content a lot. And I am in admiration of how creative you are in finding ways to restore the castle and enjoying life while doing it. And with all the people in the vlogs, It is like watching an episode of "Friends" 😃 Keep safe. Greetings from Belgium.

I love that there is a little history or memory about every little thing in the chateau - and that you cherish them all! I see too many people, that furnish and decorate their homes like a magazine add - and it might look clean and fresh, but there is just no history or personality.

Love Chateau Diaries!!! Ever since I discovered The Chateau Diaries, I've been binge watching, too. Stephanie is superior as the queen of chateaus. She has complete control over what she presents, the advantage over having a producer(s) deciding what to record, and the end result is a masterpiece.

I love the whole chateau vibe, started with Michael (Doing It Ourselves) then found Stephanie, both of whom are awesome. I've checked out a few others and they don't hold handle a candle to this team, not by a long shot. Michael and Stephanie have STYLE, they know how to design and decorate spaces that are true to the chateau's period charm. They are incredibly talented and have engaging personalities that just draw you into their world. I see big things ahead for this dynamic duo!

Ha Ha - "very useful for Valentines day" - Loved that and laughed so much. Oh and by the way I'm constantly surprised by your Fathers paintings, they are so good, first of all they are so well painted but also the joy in the wonderful colours and forms he created are fantastic. You should make a book of his paintings one day - I would definitely buy that.
@ritazita11114 жыл бұрын
I agree---his paintings are such a joy to have around!! I am a painter also, so I especially understand that having his 'Presence' around all the time has to be a major comfort. I lost my only child 5 years ago, but before that I always imagined that he would have many of my pieces in his home to remember me by. Your father was very gifted and not at all afraid to show his immense JOY. I have that too, that's why I am so moved by his paintings. Perhaps one day you will put all his wonderful work in a book so all your viewers can see in one place the art of a special father.

My road to subscribing was a bit long... I initially got the "Doing it Ourselves" videos on my recommended Home page a few times and eventually thought... fine, I'll check it out and had never watched vlogs like theirs (a chateau!) before but I HAD searched and watched series of people "renovating" historical or old homes so I completely agree with the algorithm idea about keywords making a difference. I clicked on your channel because of your collab with Doing it Ourselves but I was a little lost at who was who, and what was happening. I then started to get your videos rec'd on my home page and thought I'd try again to see if I like the channel. ...What I found SUPER helpful was actually finding your 'Sundays at the Chateau' playlist and watching it from the very beginning. I was hooked and subbed once I had a better idea about who you were, how the property had come into your life, and what your ideas for the property in the future were. You're also full of so much historical knowledge! ...I don't know if any of my shared experience helps with understanding your channel better from a new viewers point of view 🤷♀️ ...but yes, keywords are big and watching your "Sunday's at the Chateau" playlist was key for me. 😊🙌🍾

Stephanie, You gave your Father much deserved attention in this video. As a Mother, I was the voice continually beside my husband to be the Dad he needed to be. Our children , & grandkids never knew. I adore Isabelle, & think a beautiful montage of her, mixed with Michael’s talent for music, would be AMAZING ‼️ She has said some of the funniest things. Make sure to include those. ✅ Early pictures. Her life story, meeting your Dad. Document her. She is a fascinating woman. I imagine her in a different life as an actress on Broadway. She works so hard, has amazing insight to life. Do it NOW, do not wait. My Mom died 2 yrs ago. Love to see a live stream interview of Mummy. Loved the episode of her in the kitchen fussing with that machine.🤣😂 Name escapes me. Her skipping was so cute. She reminds me of my “Little Mammaw”, who was 4’9” tall, & dynamite. So hilarious & full of life. Thank you both so much for sharing your family with us. ❤️🇺🇸

Did anyone else notice at about 7:05, when you say "this piano has not the best sound to it..." a light orb appears and floats through your dress and as well, a larger orb appears on the left side, as your saying it belonged to your teacher...? hmmm? "Visitors' in spirit?... anyway what I really want to say is I LOVE, love love your stories, your enthusiasm, inspiration and the beauty of the Chateau! I stumbled across your channel, because the little tiny "shack" I've been renovating, feels like it should be on a lake- but there is no lake here and never was, therefore it is "missing"... Also, my ex and I bought a house in Valle d'itria, Puglia part of Italy in 2005.. At one time the Trullo part of the house was a winery- in 19th century- an artsy type of guy, built a farmhouse around it- it was an Italian summer home for the previous family from 1966... we stayed quite awhile working on the place surrounded by beautiful, beautiful countryside.. It was my dream to stay there and retire.. but now that's another story... I can relate somewhat to your stories- every day was a new discovery! Also reading some of the comments, YES< DO! take the metal detector to the empty lake! I'm amazed with the things we found on our property- even without detectors! We found boxes of art supplies, a garden with walkways that were buried and two huge underground vineyard cisterni -one stained from grapes that were pressed and drained through the floor, and it smelled like wine. I wish you good luck and all the best and will keep following your stories. Such an exciting adventure!

This is just lovely. You remind me of my daughter, who loves fabrics and creating beauty. I am also trying to restore a villa in Tuscany, not nearly as old or as grand as your chateau. Thank you so much for your glorious content.
