What I would give to have a sewing room. My sewing, cutting, pressing, piercing, and everything else is done on a 3x5 drop leaf table that will open up to a 5x6 when needed. I live in a 493 square foot apartment. My storage space is a shelf in my closet and a 4x4x4 foot locker in the basement. I have 4 storage bins in the basement that I keep my big supplies in. My small stuff and scraps are in my closet. Not much room but to quilt, I have to make it work. I have 3 rules one long and two square. I limit my notions to what I need to make it work. I don't have a lot of back stock. I pretty much work on no more than two projects at a time. Right now I am in the process of making quilts for all my grandkids and the rest of my family. I want them to have something to remember me by. I'm 75 years old and I'm determined to accomplish this for all of them while I still can. I have kidney disease and you never know when that situation will change. I'm am looking forward to doing your 2025 block of the month challenge. I have already purchased the fabric package from Quilted Twins. Your videos each Saturday are the highlight of my day. Thank you for all you do. Have a blessed weekend
@ccreel644 күн бұрын
Gracious! Bless your heart honey. I call what you’re doing my Swedish death sewing. It’s my way of sewing down my stash. I hope your kidney disease isn’t treating you too harshly. My husband is your age and it’s complicating his health care on several fronts. I pray it’s not the same for you.🤗

Pin, Cut, Sew is one of my very favorites! I am very much a "follow the pattern" kind of quilter; but the way that she expresses herself through her sewing creations (which include quilts, bags, dolls, doll clothes, etc.) have really inspired me to step out of my comfort zone. Not only does she do beautiful work, but she is truly a lovely person with a kind, funny, and sweet personality.

I love to watch The Last Homely House and many of the others listed here. Hope you are moving for growth and joy. Thanks for the tour of your sewing space and shipping area. Some other channels I like are My Sewing Room, Catbird Quilts, I See Stars Quilting and The Sewing Channel. Frances is a pretty cat. Want to hear a funny moving story? Way back when my husband's job used to move us frequently. At one time we moved 7 times in 6 1/2 years. We moved from CT to Florida and took our time for a 1500 mile drive, with our three cats. My husband had moved to FL before me. I had the time to pack very carefully and listed every single item in every box and the room it belonged in on the other end. I was so proud of myself. My husband drove to CT and we both drove back in the moving truck, towing a car. As we were unpacking the moving truck all of a sudden we heard a cat meowing - in the truck!!! We both started pitching boxes out of the truck. I was tossing them not caring about anything fragile inside. We were concerned that this poor cat had been in a hot moving truck for three days without food or water. I thought a neighbor's cat had snuck into the truck without our knowledge. Finally I moved a box that meowed ... I opened the box and it was a cat treat jar that meowed when the lid was opened. Apparently the lid had opened on it's own. It was so funny.

Shelley of The Quilted Forest is quick to say that those patterns are not all “official” state patterns. Some she has revised, some she has made up from old pieces of old patterns. But the series is delightful, and the patterns are easy to follow. I watch her a lot.
@andrsn4u4553 күн бұрын
Cory if you did the “official” 50 states quilt block sew along I’d join. I was going to make the 50 states but because the video was not the official blocks of the states I decided to enjoy the series but hold off on the sewing them. I think the official blocks would be a lovely quilt. ~Martha San Jose, California

I watch A LOT of different quilters. Some of my favorites are Jessica Dayton, Shelley Robson (Quilted Forest), Tammy Earnest, April Story, Kimberly Jolly, and Jenny Doan. I’m now on a “15 minutes a day” challenge with a KZbinr who is new to me, Shelina of Quilt and Color. I’m enjoying this challenge of doing SOMETHING every day. I felt like I bonded with you when I discovered you were introducing the Scrappy Irish Chain just two days after I had pulled the pattern out-and I had that pattern for at least five years!- and just started cutting squares! It felt like serendipity! I finished that quilt and gifted it last Christmas and it’s one of my all-time favorites. So I feel a “connection” to you, too! 🥰 Oh, I forgot about Karen Brown, Just Get It Done Quilts. I find Karen emotionally supportive as well as instructive. 💕

When I discovered KZbin, Tiffany Groff caught my attention because of what she struggled with in her life. She is so different than what I was used to but she is probably in the top three channels that I love to watch. If you watch her older channels it is mesmerizing and breathtaking to watch her free motion quilting. I like to watch Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics because she is right down the road and I really miss her shop now that she is all online. But your patterns and fabrics are my favorite … the sheep pattern is adorable🐑

I watched several minutes of your video, but couldn't watch all of it. When I had time later to watch all of it, I caught that you said, especially the smaller channels. Immediately April Story from April's Craft Room popped in my mind. She makes me laugh. My second thought was TerriblyRad. I started watching her in 2023 when she was doing the Fabric Cafe's 3 yard quilts. Bri the Questioning Quilter, Tracey from the Sewing Channel, and Di from Sister Chicks. For long arming I watch Tiffany's Quilting Life. Recently, I found Tammie Earnest. She shares the customer quilts that she finishes. She has a calming voice. I also stumbled across the The Quilted Forest and have been working through her two and a half inch jelly roll scraps videos. Inspiring, all of these quilters.

Love your sewing studio ❤ Nice! I’m sure the next owner is going to love the space 😊 The floor is beautiful too! Excited to see your new sewing space. My sewing space is in our basement since this past spring and so much more room 😊 Me and the hubs made my ironing boards from huge to little sizes. I use mine for ironing yardage and putting on binding between my sewing table and sewing cabinet. It’s wonderful to keep the quilt up and off the floor. So much more room and easier on my arms and hands! I use my smaller boards for piecing and resting my iron on. I used a batting made by Warm Company Insul-Bright if anyone wants to make their own boards. Great stuff! Not hard to make. Thanks Corey for your pleasant attitude each time I watch you each Saturday 🤗

Your space is amazing and organised! (Yes it is). You know where and why fabrics are in different spaces. So important, you possibly rarely need to hunt for 'that', you just saw it last week😂😂😂. Thankyou so much for sharing. You have a lovely large space. And yes, that Wool presser/clapper is something I do want, now I understand how it works. I hope to see it next quilt fair. We only get them twice a year here in South East Queensland, although quilt exhibits can be more frequent. As so much is already in collections, easier for you to pop into totes/cartons for shipping, and some containers can just go as are, more or less. I hope your new space brings you as much inspiration and space. Oh, my other must watch (not you) is Andrea of Arkansas Gals and Di of Sister Chicks, also really enjoy Susie of Revelation Quilts. Kate’s Crafting Nest is really fun to watch. Love having it play as I sew my projects. Schellishell and Yoan Sewing Studios are also great to watch for bag making. And Pigtail Quilting has a beautiful sewing space.
