A visit and dialogue with renowned classic Ferrari specialist and expert Patrick Ottis. He is one of the great names in classic Ferrari mechanical care. He operates out of Berkeley, CA. This video features a very rare (and valuable!) 1952 Ferrari 250MM coupe (one of the first 2 of a total of about 30, about half of which are Pininfarina coupes like this one), several Ferrari 330 GTCs, a 355, my 246GTS Dino and another, a Ferrari Daytona, a Ferrari 328, a little on a 1930s Alfa 6C. The MM is headed to Quail later this year.
The video starts with a shop walk, and then Patrick and Pebble Beach Chief Judge Emeritus Ed Gilbertson (and formerly the chief Ferrari Class Judge at Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance for 15 years) talk about what service is being performed on each car in Bay 1, the importance of DRIVING these cars, and battling "Over-Restoration". Patrick also explains California gas and how it can be fine so long as the cars are DRIVEN!
Part 2 will include the work Patrick is doing on the cars in Bay 2, in addition to some context on pre-war Alfa Romeos, and his son's racing activity.
We hope you enjoy this and consider subscribing- we are up to 52 subscribers as of this publishing and would really like to see that grow.
THANK YOU!
