Before you pay for a trim or a haircut, you need to inspect the hairstylist shears. And to apply a relaxer in 10 minutes and to make sure it’s smooth. You have to work extremely fast so I can see how a spot was not as smooth as you may have want it. I suggest just do your hair at home and you do a great job and save your money.

Oh wow, so sorry for the experience! You are absolutely right on giving instructions. You really have to speak up and instruct them on how you would want the process to go, because I have come to understand that everyone got trained differently or have different method they use. Hence why the first stylist was good because she asked how you would want it done. I guess the second stylist may not have asked or even if she did, still derailed to her ways. One need to be on top of the process from beginning to end with them.

As a licensed cosmetologist, In School we were taught to use an applicator brush, so the relaxer not all over the place. I don’t know why these new hair stylists be using there hands. It’s not professional… OMG I cannot believe she’s applying the relaxer this way 😲…but your hair is beautiful 🤩 😍😍 I just love US

Wow!!! I was sooo scared for you! As I was watching, I was like, “she still has relaxer around her hair line!😳 She didn’t rinse the hair properly let alone wash and deep condition correctly and the blow drying was not the best. Also, those shears definitely looked dull and that wasn’t a proper trim. I was like, what is she doing??!!!😮 I want y’all to never go back there again.

As a licensed cosmetologist, the first relaxer process was correct, except I, would have paid for a deep conditioning service. The second relaxer process was not impressive!!!! The client should have had on a cape, no matter the type of service.. If she was a new stylist in the salon she should have had a seasoned stylist/manager by her side at all times. When trimming hair always use a cutting comb and sharp shears. Next time request the same stylist for the both of you. Thanks for sharing this experience.

Hello Jess and Jenn, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I missed you! Thanks for sharing your experience! 💗I think the stylists should have taken more time with your hair. First, slathering your scalp, perimeter of your head and ears, with grease for protection. Shampooing more with the neutralizing shampoo, to ensure the relaxer was washed out properly and a deep conditioning treatment. A leave in conditioner/heat protector would have been nice. I do like that the stylists did not over process your hair and you left with you hair in the desired texture you wanted. However, I am so sorry for the under processed front part of your hair and burns in the back. Are you both at waist length yet? I see all the new inches 😁.

I want to know why you have to purchase your own products? In the U.S. many salons stylist purchase their products. Does this not happen where you live? I know you do your own based on what you stated on the video. I know stylist and they would rather clients not use box relaxers due to them being harsh for the hair. Did your Jess (hope that's the right sister rewash her hair to get the relaxer out?) Sorry 😞 she didn't have a better experience.
@JENNJESS
@JENNJESS Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes! Jessica rewashed her hair & did a protein treatment to get the relaxer out. Where we live the stylists do purchase their own relaxers but it was only one choice of the ORS Olive oil relaxer which our hair doesn't react well to, so we opted out.
@kalishajnz

@JENN & JESS I was looking to see if anyone asked this question because I thought it was interesting. So are box relaxers your only choice for a relaxer at the salon, or do they have professional relaxers as well? Salons here won't use box, and the products they purchase are professional only. I don't blame you for being upset about not getting a deep conditioner, and I'm glad that you asked for a cool blow dry. I admire Jessica for sitting through the process cause I know she had to be upset. It sucks that the experience wasn't that great. Ya'lls hair is beautiful, and I can tell you put good care into it. 💜

You wanted to collect the blow dryer but you should have collected the water hose. I saw you rub your front edges and sniff your fingers, didn't you feel the lack of water around your edges? I would have told her to use much more water or called for the salon manager to do it.

@JENNJESS

No one said the salon does not have professional grade relaxers. Every salon does. We simply bought the brand that we trust and use, to avoid being stuck using any other brands that they might have available. We also haven’t been to a salon in over 10 years, from what we said in the video, you can tell we assumed that a regular conditioning treatment would suffice

Wow that needed another couple of neutralizers and a deep conditioner after a relaxer treatment under the hood. I go to the salon and I always get a deep conditioner after relaxing with a protein treatment. The wide toothed comb and dull shears for a trim? This is not a top-tier salon, no way. Annoying when you pay and get less than you can do for free.
