You guys are now living in malaysia right? i used to live there for 3 years(work contract). might i suggest you guys go visits perhentian island or redang island. its very muslim friendly and most importantly it is not as crowded as beaches and islands in thailand. trust me you'll love it there and now every once in year its my vacation spots with my family. im from canada too btw.

I lived in both Malaysia and Thailand. The island tour from Krabi is nice but with kids it can be a challenge lots of people on Phi Phi Island, Railay Beach. I would recommend that you guys get a water villa (2-3 days) in Khao Sok National park, the views are similar to Phi Phi and kids will enjoy it. You guys are already in Krabi you can take a taxi there and then fly out of Surat Thani back to KL.

“Not dressed properly” is a bit condescending. I totally get and respect your beliefs and I’m sure I’m taking it too seriously, but not everyone shares the same beliefs and it seems kind of disrespectful. Maybe not dressed modest but the way you phrased it is like it’s “wrong”, which is true according to your beliefs…. But you would like to be respected for dressing modestly and probably feel disrespected when people tell you you’re dressed “improperly” - which I’m sure you’ve gotten before. Just saying
