Visiting Brighton Palace Pier - Crazy FUNFAIR Rides!

Join me as I visit the historic Brighton Palace Pier which opened in 1899 and is home to a funfair at the end with some crazy rides
I have visited Brighton Palace Pier many times over the years so it was good to make a return visit back, unfortunately due to it still being out of season a few rides were closed on my visit
There is a good selection of rides here including 2 rollercoasters, a huge Ghost Train, Log Flume and your traditional funfair rides, the pier itself is free to walk along and well worth a visit

They need 12 people for the turbo because of the wind speed. On not a windy day they wouldn't need that many. Same with crazy mouse. They have wind speed meters and each ride has set limitations. I agree it does seem like it's closed though. During that season they don't need that many operators and they have a radio so if some operator from a different ride notices people waiting, they can inform and call for someone. They watch it themselves too. I hope this helps!

Nice vlog, really enjoyed and look forward to seeing more. Shame the roller coaster wasn't open a.k.a the one that required 4 now 12 to ride, hopefully can get that in the summer months? Would of been nice to get a POV of that, Would they not send it round empty with a go pro connected to front? Surely for testing that happens? If so, could of done that? Or requested it? But nice vlog, never visited this amusement park, ghost train looks fun and interesting, hoping to visit more attractions this year. But yeah again, nice vlog, & look forward to more in future. Andy, its common for mouses for minimum riders due to the ride not making it round if not enough weight. Its really common in BPool too that sometimes it is required due to wind

they need to sort out a booking system for that coaster or have it open for 1 ride per hour or something so everyone who wants to ride at least turns up at the same time. Give it a better chance of getting the 12.

Hi Andy, great vlog as always. But I think charging £32 for a wrist band for pier rides which, let's face it, are very generic and also in need of a lot of repair, maintenance not to mention painting is absolutely abysmal. That's before four rides were closed. Won't be visiting that pier at all. Ps. Hope you're keeping well and loving your new camera. Cheers 🥂

Apart from the National Marine Aquarium other places in Plymouth worth visiting include a massive ferris wheel opening April on Plymouth Hoe, Smeatons Tower, The Box museum and Indoor Adventure Golf at the Barcode

Heyyy the minimums are based on the weather unfortunately on both turbo and crazy mouse. Better weather and no wind means lower minimums. ( I work there 😊)

Health and safety gone mad. Remember when I was young going on rollercoasters and other fun fair rides and you had never needed a seatbelt it’s just crazy madness and I don’t understand why they have a policy against filming. The public have no problem with people filming them and if they turn around and say oh, it’s cause of copyright for theme parks or other fun fairs ain’t going to Nick other ideas

The minimum is because of the wind speed. If they load less than 12 the train stalls on turbo

I think you need to choose a setting with higher fps for on-ride as there's a tearing around the edges on this setting. I know it states 4k @120fps but this looks like 1080 @ 60fps right now. Maybe you dropped it for memory usage - but just for on-ride I'd personally sacrifice memory for a cleaner video.

The past few videos have been filmed in 1080p 50fps and the Action 4 was in wide with Rocksteady+ on

It's great the pier has rides open. But £32 for a wristband is a little steep. £20-25 would see them sell more. For the rides that was open. Andy, any crain videos coming soon?

Yeah I agree that the wristband price would benefit for being cheaper in winter while some of the rides are closed ! The Crane videos are on hold for the moment until I can get back into making them

It is a bit expensive but if you think about how most adult rides cost £4/5 then that would mean you can go 6/7 times only with that price and people tend to be there whole day riding for hours! It pays off, but I agree, on a day where some rides are closed they should reduce the price a bit.

They have set up a committee on what to do with the land on frontier space. Hoping to bring back a themed rides again. But if its anything like margate, the council have it as concerts and sold of the rides.
