Sri Lanka is clean, safe, any climate in 3 hours and the people are laid back and super kind.

I too preferred Sri Lanka actually in terms of cleanliness and good beaches beyond Colombo

The Independence Square building you saw is a replica of the ‘Magul Maduwa’ adjacent to the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, which is where Sri Lanka was ceded to the British in 1815. It’s symbolic that they built a similar structure in Colombo to mark the end of the British colonial era.

Welcome to SL. Beautifully filmed. It looks like at Colombo's City of Dreams apartments. Enjoy. Colombo air quality index for today is just ..5 ...it can't get any better

Welcome to Sri Lanka. Hope you enjoy your stay more and more, as you explore the country further. Just FYI, the "Slave Island" refers to the place the Portuguese kept their slaves they brought from from Africa. Sri Lankans were never enslaved by anyone.
@DarronSpeckАй бұрын
I didn't say the Sri Lankans were enslaved. I did go into more details, but cut it out as the video was getting too long.

That was a banyan tree. The biggest Buddha statue in Sri Lanka maybe the Aukana Buddha statue (8th century, granite. 46 feet high. The rain water runs over the tip of the nose and collects in a little pool carved at the foot of the Buddha. It’s beautiful). Those Rolls Royces were gifts. Elephants in ancient Sri Lanka were the equivalent of horses in the west - status and labour in one.

Gangarama temple was once a Place worshiped , frequently visited by president s , prime minister s for last 5 decades when the late prelate ven. Podi hamuduruwo bikku was in charge of this temple! It was corridors of power where many foreign delegates from Far East to west were visited! The cars and all other artifacts , I suppose gifted to chief bikku! He has done many philanthropic work to society too with his closeness to powers too! Greetings I’m doctor Manoj from Kurunegala! If you visit kurunegala , you should definitely visit ‘ elephant rock’ - Athagala!😊

“The idea that drinking cold water in hot weather heats you up more is actually a misconception; in most situations, drinking cold water in hot weather helps cool you down by providing a rapid heat transfer from your body to the cold liquid, triggering sweating which further cools you through evaporation, even though the initial sensation might feel slightly warming in your stomach.”
