Nice vid. Curious why there appears to be a rear view mirror mounted on the pilot's side underneath.

thank you for the reply. One day, maybe, with enough cash i can try and obtain a PPL (H) then progress to turbines. A pity one cannot learn on a 206 straight away these days (seems to be Robinson R22/44). The Jet Ranger is such a great heli for its size/cost.

@TachyonDriver I fly the 206bIII and yes before you take it up to 70% N1 and it has been sitting longer than 15 mins since you shutdown per the flight manual there is a 1 min warmup

Very nice

@TachyonDriver There is nowhere saying that you cannot start your flight training in a 206, the reason why many start in 22/44's is because there are very cheap to operate, so if you had a huge bank account you can get your flight training in a 206

I've watched numerous Jet Ranger video on the tube, but none of the others appear to have the 1 minute cooldown procedure before takeoff. Is that because they don't care about the machine? Or is it a procedure that does not have to be carried out on every takeoff? I only fly RC helis so am not familiar with full size turbine powered machines :)

possible, that t^hey dont care about... 2minute cool down, 1min stabilize after Engine Start in Idle
@velocityflier1611 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as a "1 minute cooldown" in the takeoff checklist. They clearly do not know what they're talking about. This is coming from a pilot of 12 years.

As a pilot with over 4400 hours on various versions of the jet/long rangers I can assure you that after completing the start it is normal procedure to wait one minute before turning on the generator. The purpose of this wait is to allow the starter/generator to cool down after the start, before requiring it to handle the initial surge of current required by the battery. This not to be confused with the 2 minute cool down of the engine before shutting it down. I will admit this is the first time I have heard of this one minute wait as a cool down even though that is actually what it is.

Thats funny I have the list that says that and more.
