Thank you Peter for your magnificent videos of your trips around a beautiful free country. I suppose if you have money you can have and create anything your hearts desire, the upkeep of these trees and garden wares must be vast employing a great number of gardeners with the expertise in bonsai to keep the bonsai in pristine condition.

Love the bronze buffalo!!! Beautiful museum with wonderful sculpture and pots!!! What are the trees at 2:20 & 2:21 with a fluted base (maybe old roofs)? Magnificent trees!!! You are absolutely right about there being “treasures” everywhere! What city in Taiwan is Mr. Chen’s private garden? Thank you for taking us along.

These look great, I saw a few very large bonsai pines when I was in Kyoto recently, considering those were 500, 600 years old, with one large pine being 800 years, these ones must also be close in age.

It's crazy to think how old these trees can get. Imagine all the people that have cared for them over the centuries and passed away. Incredible to see how the work is passed from generation to generation.

No they are between 40-50 years old only.

@Rei_Tozo 6 ай бұрын
@@peterchan3100 Really? I am not sure how you can tell that, I am still a beginner with bonsai, I know that the very old trees in Kyoto had amazing thick and detailed bark. But are you saying the tree at 7:50 , for example, can be grown in a single generation? If so that is amazing and I should get myself one of those as soon as possible.
@alexverdigris9939
@alexverdigris9939 6 ай бұрын
@@Rei_Tozo You can develop impressive trees in 30 years, but that's still a long time by human standards. I have a few trees that I've been developing for 8 years, and will do so for another 8 or so, then I will sell them so someone else can take over. Bonsai require intensive care compared to garden plants, so they're a bit of a commitment. If you take a summer holiday/vacation, you need someone to water them or you'll return to find them dead and dry.
