For someone visiting from outside, I understand it's important to stay in cities like Delhi and Mumbai and Kolkata and Chennai to experience the culture, the food and everything else that India stands for. But for a true vacation, your destinations should be Goa, Kerala, The Himalayas, the Western Ghats etc. These places host some of the most pristine landscapes that earth has to offer.

for best beaches in India there are andaman n nicobar islands (572 islands) and lakshadweep islands (36 islands). lakshadweep is close to maldives has got unharmed coral reeves. it's like Maldives at very lesser cost. both andaman and lakshadweep has great water. Radhanagar Beach in Havelock Islands of Andaman has been rated as best beach in asia by trip advisor and others. but you need to take permit before entering. you can ask any travel agency do that work for you. I always suggest first time foreign tourists in India to ignore large cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata. Land in Bangalore and start with Kerala to acclimatise, then follow the western ghats on coastal areas and visit Mangalore, Gokarna, Goa. Spend few days in Karnataka or Tamilnadu to do the ancient architecture and temple tours. Then goto MP and Rajasthan. While leaving stay a day in Delhi and do a guided tour. In subsequent visits can do Delhi , Sikkim, Himachal, NE etc. Food is good all over the country.

Indian is very different from north to south , east to west. India has 5 seasons, we have desert, snowy mountains, beaches backwaters and hillstation. It's one of most geographically diverse country in the world If you're in India now, in the month of January. You can go to Thar desert in rajasthan, and just 924km from the desert you can visit a city in Himachal Pradesh called "Shimla". It's a hillstation where you can experience snowfall It's insane that after you travel 924km you will literally go from a desert to snowy hillstation city😂 That's how insane India's geography is!!
