Spirit Halloween could make a killing, and extend their leases a bit longer on those abandoned storefronts, if they switched the store over to "Christmas Spirit" after Halloween is over. Sell trees, ornaments, lights, and all the crazy stuff to put up in your front yard.

Halloween is the only holiday I make sure I have the night off for. Everything else I usually miss. Seems like everyone is trying to end Halloween as soon as possible. But I've been to some truck stops where they're still playing Christmas music way past Jan 1st!!

Halloween is my favorite season but it can't last forever which makes it more special. I call the time until Thanksgiving Autumn/ Harvest vibes. Then it's Christmas time until the week after New Years for me. Once all the lights are taken down it is the most depressing time of year for me 🙁

Couple theories about Ooogie. One in a town where everyone is a monster of some type in order for him to stand out as THE monster bad guy he must have a vice of some sort. Another is the gambler/ chaos trope. He choses how to torture his victims randomly by chance. However he subverts the typical gambler as he does cheat and changes his roll when Santa is there

McAddenville, NC--"Christmas Town"--the entire town is lit up for the season. Hermann, MO--picturesque winery town where everyone used to speak only German. The list of Chistmas-y stuff to do there goes on and on. You could probably stay there for a few days.

Maybe you could visit some of the drive though Christmas lights. I am always down for those, Oglebay in WV has good ones. Also, Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square has a beautiful Christmas light extravaganza (it does get very crowded though). If you are passing through NW PA there is a good Christmas store in Hermitage called Kraynak's and Daffin Candy store in nearby Sharon has an animal display made out of chocolate.

I went to get my costume so late it was the 26th of October. I want a little red riding hood costume but only small skimmpy ones were left. So I grabbed the last plus size Winnifred Sanderson costume and wing and something I needed for my work with a Rocky Horror Shadow Cast. Its was a good thing I did cause 1. I felt beautiful and 2. My one cast member couldn't find her Winnie costume after she moved and they were planning on doing a Hocus Pocus themed preshow. I had only found that out today but I had a feeling it would come in handy for a preshow.

I went at my local Spirit costume shop on Nov. 2nd, and I was happy to get my costume of Sam from Trick r Treat, and two accessories of his lollipop and Hollie-Ho knife bar from it, including a hat from the movie at 50% off. I love Spirit since they have the most cheapest deals than Halloween Express in my opinion. The only thing I did buy at regular price this year was the “Scary Movies and Chill” Ghostface shirt and a beautiful Halloween wreath to hang on my front door.

While haunts for each holiday would get to be too much (fast), are there any walk-through attractions (like Halloween has haunts) for Christmas? Where you go through holiday scenes not to be scared, but where you could feel the cold (in snowy seasons), smell the smells (in like homey or kitchen scenes), stuff like that? Have you ever heard of or been to anything like that, Jacob?

To answer your questions; Ooogie-Boogie is supposed to be, literally, the Boogie-man of lore. And the reason for the gambling is to underscore the fact that, even by Halloween-Town standards, he's a no-goodnik who can't be trusted. And the "Mary" in the snow-globe was Mary Sanderson from 'Hocus Pocus'! Hope y'all have holiday fun! =)

Oogie Boogie is supposed to be the essence of evil in a sack. Bugs represent the evil & gambling is supposed to be evil so he’s just a bad guy. Doesn’t have to make much sense, I just like the originality of it. And Jack & Sally’s romance is the culmination of what Jack learns throughout the movie, so that’s why it happens at the end, he had to realize the love he was missing

If you like the animatronics from Spirit, you should watch Wicked Makers on KZbin. They do amazing customizations of them, along with Halloween props built from scratch. They just remade Nozzles the Clown as the Joker.
