Enjoyed your video, which shows some lovely places to visit on the Jurassic Coast, but can't agree with your 'Tacky Weymouth' comments - the Harbour, a Georgian seafront, Preston Beach Promenade, Greenhill and Radipole Gardens, 2 RSPB sites, Nothe Fort and Gardens, Newtons Cove, to name but just a few Jewels of this resort. It's well worth wandering off from the main tourist beach area (although that's wonderful too)! :-)

Lovely area of the country. We were down in Dorset in July but avoided the coast due to the newspaper reports of crowded beaches. We always enjoy this area and have found something new every time we visit. Thanks for sharing your weekend. 😄 Trev n Sue

Just a comment, never wind the awning out all the way without supporting legs. It puts tremendous leverage on the van fixings and side panel. Just wind it out about a metre, then put legs down and move out in meters increments moving legs to catch up until fully extended.

Hi to you both, we enjoyed the vlog very much. At the moment we are caravanners but we're thinking of changing to a motorhome, it looks so much easier. We love the information you gave about parking in the areas you visited, where you can and can't park and this with a small motorhome. It seems so difficult sometimes and of course a worry. Your vlog has helped us make our minds up about caravanning v motorhoming. We like the thought of having the room of a caravan and of course having the car to go wherever you like without the parking problem. The other thing that made us feel uneasy was the cost of buying a decent motorhome. We have been so uncertain for months but I think we know which suits us best. Ian and Angie.
@HereWeTow4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Ian and Angie. We are absolutely loving the Motorhome and I think the key is to stay smaller so you can use it as a vehicle to get around in. We are trying to decide whether to push up to 7 metres so get the fixed bed and larger garage or to stay at 6 metres. It really is as easy as it looks. Good luck with whatever you decide 😊Karina

Ah Swanage our favourite place, the first pier you saw, is called Banjo pier, both chippies are good on that corner, depends on whether you want to eat in or out. The site looks really nice very narrow access. Love Corfe great national trust tea rooms there and a couple of nice pubs, we missed our yearly holiday to Dorset, this brought back some happy memories thanks for sharing. Been to the seven star pub really good pub grub Stay safe best wishes stay safe Jon and Karen

Good to see your Video as we had 16 days away this August and was staying in Bosham, West Sussex and we explored the South Coast between Swanage to Brighton. I loved Corfe Castle and the ferry across to sandbanks was good to see as it brought back a super day out and fantastic memories. Im still a caravanner as I do like my car for exploring but have thrown the question around caravan or motorhome. In four years we won't be restricted to school holidays so maybe then we could consider a motorhome or campervan as parking before or after school hols won't be as difficult. Thanks Jim.

We've just seen this. We live in Wareham so it was lovely to see. Unfortunately I don't agree about the 7 stars pub, the food we had last year wasn't good. I would not recommend it. I've do agree about weymouth though. There are lots are other beautiful places to go and eat, If you're ever down here again. There's now Harlees chip shop which is owned by a local family. The Grand Hotel and Pines are very nice places to eat, the views are amazing.

Stayed on that site with a caravan three years ago. The location was, I thought, very nice and the walk into Corfe lovely. We thought the site itself wasn’t so good though, being very cramped and quite noisy. Our pitch was barely large enough to accommodate our caravan with a smallish awning and we had to park the car on the other side of the hedge, Maybe we were unlucky but it might be worth investigating other sites in the area.
@HereWeTow4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mark, we said our pitch would have been small if we still had our 8ft wide caravan and 3 metre wide awning. We have stayed at Hunters Moon before and Wareham Forest. Its such a lovely area. Thank you for watching 😊 Karina

New Zealand here, Corfe Castle plays a huge part in my ancestry and my family was quite prominent from 1600, basically born there or in Wareham. We made a trip there 5 years ago. Disappointed you haven’t put up a photo of the castle. Loved Weymouth and I don’t think it’s typically British seaside.

Wow! Just wow! We live in ‘tacky Weymouth’ and tacky it ain’t! If your talking about the shops, there are (still) some nice ones here, some lovely hotels, camp sites, restaurants etc. A lovely harbour side and Portland hangs out the end of it too! We hosted the tacky sailing for the 2012 olympics too, soooo tacky 😉. Cheap? Not really but in comparison to Sandbanks, yes, can’t argue with that! Glad you enjoyed your trip away though.

Here we Tow Weymouth is a lovely seaside town with some lovely places to go, as we do in the summer.......away from Weymouth! It gets so busy so can’t be that tacky. We (I) prefer it in the out of season times, when it’s quieter, we use ‘local’ sites too, Hunters Moon, Wareham Forest Touring park, Merley Park and Lychett Manor just to get away!
