Years and years ago, back in the 90's, I met Dawn Wells at a publicity appearance at a Wal-Mart in Moberly, Mo. I had purchased a Gilligan's Island cookbook she had authored , and I had had Dawn autograph it for my mom. . Such a very sweet person. Believe it or not, she was a graduate of Stephens College down in Columbia, Mo. So it was almost like a return home of sorts for her.

I was in LA back in July/August showing our relatives the lovely sights of the city, walk of fame, Griffiths Observatory (good hot food in their cafeteria), and Hawthorne! This was one of your finest! Really enjoyed this video. I was born in 1961 and remember growing up watching Giligan's Island. Plus, I watched for years in reruns. In my youth, I viewed the character "Mary Ann" as a baby-sitter. As I grew older, I found her very attractive, as you said. At the end, you shared meeting the "Captain" and this was really cool as well. Your videos just keep improving and getting better! The last one I saw was the "dirty hotel room". I have to admit, I really laughed hard, because we have all been there to some degree. Too funny! Keep up the great work and stay free!

Hi Lamont! I watched a video or two about Dawn being in financial need for her retirement home costs. A friend of hers posted requests for donations from her fans. It was sad knowing that she was struggling to pay for housing, etc... especially in her 80's. She is such an icon in the rather wholesome years of television and a significant part of so many people's daily entertainment. It's bad enough when you're struggling that way when you're in your 20s or 30s or 40s etc, but, to be worried daily when you're in your 80s is hearbreaking. XO [BTW I've not considered you to be "chubby" any of the time since I've been watching your videos lol]

I met Dawn Wells in 1971 when as a broadcasting student here In Dallas. She was in town doing a play at a Dinner Theater. The instructor at school asked us to interview someone as an assignment. Most of the guys picked people like politicians, storekeepers, policemen and parents. But not me I called up the theater and ask to speak to one of Dawn Wells people. The next day I got a phone call from her agent telling me to be there the next day. When I arrived I was taken to her dressing room to do the interview. She was putting on her makeup as I started. She knew I was nervous and was very kind to me. The interview went pretty good and when it was over she invited me to stay and see the show. So of course I had too. She was so beautiful and kind I couldn’t so no. At school the next day I was treated like a celebrity for daring to do the interview. Especially since I had a bunch of 8 by 10 glossy pictures of Dawn. This was an experience I have never forgotten and I was so sad when I heard of her death.

LOVED Dawn Wells, but thought of her as mostly more HOMESPUN as far as looks were concerned. Dawn was a MORE NATURAL LOOKING GIRL!!!! And yes Lamont, you might be onto something regarding Critics!!!! So you knew Alan Hale Jr.?!!! Pretty COOL!!!! Keep Safe!!!!
