Visiting The Oldest Public Library In The UK, PLUS A Medieval Festival | Chetham's School Of Music
I had the pleasure of visiting Chetham's school of music this week as they opened up some of their fantastic medieval buildings and hosted a medieval festival. I also booked to have a tour of Chetham's library, which just so happens to be the oldest public library in the UK! It was marvelous, with 250,000 items, and a thoroughly interesting history, not to mention the incredible building itself. The festival had lots of interesting things too, such as musicians playing medieval music and instruments, a puppet show, a tent full of gorgeous birds of prey, and so much more! It was a great way to celebrate 600 years! If you'd like more information on Chetham's library, or want to plan a visit for yourself, I'll leave some links below.
