Visiting the TITANIC EXHIBITION Las Vegas, Was It Tacky or Touching History?

In this video I'm visiting Titanic The Artifacts Exhibition in Las Vegas. I was lucky enough to travel to the west of America earlier this year, and while we stopped in Las Vegas for a few days, I couldn’t resist going to see one of the most famous exhibitions in the world at The Luxor and decided to take you along with me. I was worried that the Titanic Exhibition might be a bit tacky or overly glamourise the film. And while the 1997 James Cameron movie had a very definitive impact on me at 12 years old and has certainly influenced my love of costuming, I feel it’s very important to remember that the Titanic disaster is a terrible tragedy that shouldn’t be laughed about or necessarily cashed in on. I do however feel it’s a snapshot of a very poignant and fascinating period in history and I appreciated that the artifacts recovered really help tell the stories of the individuals on board. If there’s one thing I love about a good museum or historical exhibition is if it can bring history to life and connect you with the people of the time.

I was able to visit a Titanic exhibit many years ago and I have to say, they have certainly improved the exhibit a lot since my visit. This was very interesting. Thanks for taking us along.

I've never been to one before. There were inevitably some tacky elements and a couple of questionable souvenirs in the gift shop, but I was very pleased to see the focus on the stories of the people mostly.
