This is truly incredible. It always feels remarkable how easily humans from completely different walks of life can connect over music and food. No understanding of the language needed, just that immediate connection. I really love that you made the point at the end about how all humans are fundamentally the same, we have the same needs and often share the same core values: family, love, community, happiness, health…no matter where we come from and what our culture is. Videos like this are a great reminder that there is more that joins us than divides us if we’re willing to observe, learn, share, respect, and just seek to understand one another as humans. While society may call these tribes uncivilised- look how readily they welcomed a complete stranger from the western world despite them being exposed to western people very little. And then compare that to how many in the western world ostracise those from other countries, races, religions; cultures despite us having shared space with them for such a long time. I know which feels more civilised to me.

You have to let it develop naturally. There is a reason why one of the tribes he visited is not practicing cannibalism. Eventually the tribe that practices cannibalism will subside naturally or both tribes would be wiped wiped out eventually as it happened in humans history during evolution. If you just start giving them technology advances from the outside and disregard their current state of living they will be in for pain and destruction for the next generations. This idea of exploiting is a weird concept. Any time we enjoy another culture we are said to be exploiting it. Well then according to that logic since you watched this video and enjoyed the beautiful music without sending any money to the tribe then you just exploited them. If you have a video about those people practice canibalism than you can upload it. If not then how confident are you using word of Canibalism in your opening video? Hi bro let me tell you something: Did you aware that you spread a negative mindset or image to the world community that Papuan are cannibalsts? you just using the word of cannibals for your lust and interest? Cos you will have a lot of benefit in your bank account when many people whatche, coments, like and subscribed. It’s seem like you made island of Papua/an as an object for your benefit. I suggest that You must be careful use the word of “canibalism” because you put Papua/an as in negative side, and you don’t give them anything, you took a lot of benefit from them (you are a stealer), whereas you are degrading dignity of Papua/an. (That what white people do until now in West papua: FreePort In Timika and BP in Bintuni) I want to teach you here: You must know first that West Papua has more than 250 tribes and 400 languages. Each of tribes has different way of life. Long time ago only 2/3 tribes in Papua were practiced canibalims but not to day. “NOT TO DAY”. There are some KINGMI & Reformed Churches there and schools in Koroway. The Coroway people now practice Christian life. Those people normally go to churches every Sunday and their children go to schools every day. I have a Momuna tribe friend here in New Zealand, He just finished his master degree (civilised). actually Koroway people using clothes in their everyday life not like in this KZbin., they using traditional costumes because @Drew Binsky want to made a video on KZbin. (That’s okey you have freedom to do anything as far as Koroway people like your mission but your biggest mistake is you spread out fake information that they still practice canibalims, this sound sad you put them in hell). My conclusion is: this is a kind of neo colonialism. Hope you can make any changes in this video.

Great you ventured in there and gave them the respect due despite the sensationalist title. I grew up in Papua New Guinea to the East and spent 17 years there, speak both common languages and travelled all over the country including to tribes that only had first contact with Europeans in the 1950's, especially in the Highlands. I also had many West Papuan friends and have been to Jayapura as well. My father was an anthropological film maker and spent 35 years in PNG documenting the culture and I spent lengthy periods with him on location living in villages, swimming, climbing coconuts, eating sago, yams etc. Big part of my life and yes there is a lot to learn from tribes like that. One thing you find in Melanesia is that by our terms they have little, but they actually have a better stress free life in the village, always smile and will always welcome you and give you what they have. I do get annoyed about titles that hint at current practices of cannibalism etc, as do many Melanesians when people use these titles. Simply not a practice anymore. As I said, I like that you didn't push that narrative and gave it context by saying the practice, if it still occurs, is associated with tribal warfare and ritual pay back and witchcraft and sorcery. Papua New Guinea still has sections in its laws and constitution to do with sorcery. If you ever need any contacts in PNG to get you anywhere and want to hook up with my dads old colleagues who work at the National Film Institute in Goroka, which he built and developed and are all PNGean film makers, let me know. They are also the authority in PNG who issue commercial film permits to people wishing to make larger scale commercial content.

I’m actually glad you were led to a different tribe. I was fearful you might upset the cannibalistic tribe and, well… I honestly thought these people were wonderful! ❤ They were so nice and inviting, shared food with you (I won’t lie, their food looked pretty yummy to me), gave you a place to sleep, showed you how they lived… And how amazing are these people! They live totally off the land, they have real interactions with each other, no stresses (except the cannibals)… And that water was just beautiful! My favorite activity as a kid was playing in the creek in my backyard. There’s one behind the house I live in now and even at 50, you’ll still find me in it, so when I saw that water, I wished I could jump through the screen and dive right in! You were very lucky to have such a marvelous experience! I hope you go back to visit them again one day! 😊 But a word of advice, next time take bug spray… Mosquitoes seem to like type O blood best (trust me, I’m all too aware of that, myself, my husband and kids are all O and we get eaten alive) as do, apparently, other insects. Also, mosquitoes don’t seem to like the smell of patchouli and oak moss. Just some other alternatives if you’d prefer to not expose them to chemicals 😉

When you met everyone you said I kotree etc which means I offer myself to you / to you guys / to all of you. (Min 8.30) On min 13 they are announcing throughout the jungle that they are having a feast and inviting others to join them, telling others that they have a white man that looks delicious and tasty, that you came to them for free and they didn't even had to hunt you down. On minute 13.34 he looks deep into your eyes wondering how delicious you must taste. Right after the kid is chopping down a tree for the fire to grill you. They decided to let you gain some weight overnight and didn't eat you that day. The women were very disappointed by that. they wanted to have intercourse with you (look minute 10.10) and eat your manly parts. The morning after you guys went on a hunt for side dishes. Min 18.45 the women are singing and dancing because "they are going to eat well. "Minute 19.10 They didn't get "lost" in the jungle, they were searching for you, the woman, said you were with her, at that moment you were way to valuable for them to lose you, On min 19.45 they were training to cut your neck and kept announcing the feast throughout the jungle, inviting others for diner, that's why you felt scared. Min 22.40 she asks who wants to eat your manly parts with her, and who is going to eat which part (someone wanted the tip of your P). The man on minute 19.30 says he wants to eat you buttcheeks and P he sings it again on min 22.52 Martin did not misled you, he knew they were lying and are actually the Korowai tribe. He looks very uncomfortable (min 9.23) funny is on minute 13 after they finish "singing" about eating you, you say" That Was Amazing" 13.37 I laughed at that.

I think it's something other than blood type. My family is A+ but we get eaten alive and our bites swell up bad. I've known a couple type O people that didn't get bit much.

Why don't *YOU* actually go out and do some real good for other humans without getting *ANY* recognition for it? Step away from your computer and go out into the real world. Quit trying to preach to people. Ask yourself some tough questions and be *honest* with yourself. You're sinning by posting this nonsense you cobbled together so follow your own advice. You're not creating disciples. You're not baptizing anyone. YOU are a hypocrite. A big, fat hypocrite. No good works will ever save you right? You're so full of b.s. and you can't even see it. i kinda disagree about risking life... this exact tribe is well known and people visits them from time of the time, instead, Madventures did actually meet some tribes that actually was very agressive towards them and almost got killed by their spears... these cannibal tribes in this video who was also met by Madventures back in 2001, they told they only eat human when they win enemy tribe in battle, they eat the leader :)

I totally agree- they are beautiful, skillful singers with strong voices. Hearing them communicate and celebrate was definitely my favorite part of the video. Thank you so much for sharing. (I’m an opera singer so I have a deep appreciation for their unique musical language.)

It's really interesting to see how diverse we humans really are! That guy singing, without a care at all that he'll be judged by anyone listening. I'm guessing that has no place in their village. He sings like we talk, just another way of expressing ones self for him

Their singing reminds me of the New Guinea singing dogs I heard when I was 9 years old living for 4 months just outside an exotic farm in Wisconsin, United States (now gone, along with the elderly people who lived there). Beautiful and togetherness feel, yet somehow eerie and sad (especially when sung in just the right notes) as though they're telling stories no words can describe and that are too old to recall. The memory is getting a little fuzzy, but I do remember their voices would break (as in yodeling) when raising and lowering their pitch, too. It makes me wonder who inspired who. Thank you for sharing the Maimuna tribe's singing.

I got to meet a pair of this species of singing dogs. Really helped my understanding of dogs to see the strength and feral energy. Was actually scary. This was before YT times, maybe we can see and hear them again online?

By far the wildest experience (vicarious, of course!) that you've had, am I right? I know you were a bit disappointed in not finding the 'true' cannibals you were seeking, but you did learn why this practice is done, and I'm glad you were not on any skewer. I have to do all of this through your eyes and thank you for being so brazenly adventurous. An experience and setting I will never forget.
