Visiting These Magical Hot Springs Before BLM Closes Them Off

I have been searching for these hot spring for quite some time. The soak in these bathtubs was magical. Unfortunately they are being taken out. I am very fortunate to have enjoyed them atleast once. I'll never forget this.

My son and I just got back last Tuesday from driving up Highway 395 and we ran into Keoughs hot springs. We didn’t go into the part you pay, we went into the free one down below it. It was so nice and not very many people there.

I’m just curious to know what kind of reliable car do you have ? My biggest fear is my car braking down in the middle of no where.

Well my vehicle is always falling a part. I ALWAYS carry tools, extra belt, tape, silicone glue, water, bolts. A spare tire an air compressor. And I also have a Garmin. I pay $12 a month. I can reach anyone if I really need to

I also carry minimum 5 gallons of water and 2 weeks worth of food and warm blankets

I do know the basics of car repair and I have insurance lol so I’m covered if anything happens lol I guess I just need to do it and stop making excuses and being afraid lol

Ok, so if the BLM is closing this beautiful area, then share the hell out of it. Maybe if enough people use it, they might change their minds ? I know they were taking all the windmills out of the Mojave Preserve, but the local wildlife had become dependent on the water they pump and some were still left there.

Why wouldn't you tell people where it is especially if it's being closed? It's ok there but it's not really a hot spring in the traditional sense, there's so many better hot springs around.

I made a choice to not tell people. If they a want to find it, they can do the research. Part of the fun and respect in going to places like this is putting in the work to find it.
