TYVM! Informative and lovely (ex saliva), as per normal. I am the opposite to you at 6:16: I hope the intelligent fobs are the future and cards completely go away. The Magic Bands at Disney, the Princess Medallions, ... Fob: Door key (both my room and other facilities), pay (or validate) contactless without a swipe or worse the server taking your card away - bars, restaurants and shops (or shoppes if the cruise is expensive enough.) Eventually, my hope is for fobs to just be for those too petulant to use their cell on vacation and the rest of us use our iWatch or iPhone.

Viking is my favorite line by far and I have done 31 cruises with Cunard, HAL, Princess, Celebrity and SeaDream, Viking just does everything right every time and we have done 4 cruises with them, two ocean and two river. We were supposed to be on the Venus in July in the Viking Homelands and had to move it to 2023 after they cancelled it to give you my stateroom. 😂 I heard your Netflix add on for the live touch screens. HaHa. I am looking forward to doing the Chef's Table on our next cruise, we have not done that yet. We love going to Manfredi's and usually go there at least every other night. The Head Chef and Maitre D have always walked around on our cruises to chat and see that all is well, great touch.

Identical protocols on our second Viking cruise over 2022 New Year's Athens-Istanbul cruise a few weeks ago. Had the same superb Asian meal at the Chef's Table, too. The Silver Spirits Beverage Package is a real deal. Despite the Covid hassles it was well worth the bother, even having flown from and back to the U.S.

Nice video, just a note on the peking duck. Real peaking duck exist out of multiple dishes, not just a bit of duck skin in a pancake. Should investigate that.

You forgoet to mention the crew who were the most pleasant, obliging and efficient crew ever nothing was too much trouble. The cruise director was also great with a voice like a nightingale and a sense of humour.

Well Daniel it's no secret that all cruise ships are operating below capacity and you're right, at the moment it is MUCH better than a typical cruise because the staff are the same in number and so you get that extra attentiveness simply because there's less of us guests to keep happy. If you can put up with all the paperwork and testing I'd say this is the best time ever to go on a cruise. :)

Particularly for the demographic Viking serves, it can be difficult due to, say, B/P meds or something. I feel for you. The Room Service was really good, though, wasn't it? (Seriously, those ppl worked hard!)

Thank you Michele, we appreciate you watching. :) Well, Viking do have a slightly older demographic generally (they have a HUGE loyal repeat following) but we found that there was a broad spectrum of ages and it depends what you're looking for in a honeymoon. If you want incredible food, a beautiful stateroom, a huge free to use Nordic spa and the most gorgeous pool area (I could go on), then this would be perfect. If you're looking for lot's of loud music, dancing, partying and outrageous behaviour, then I'd recommend something else. Have you seen our other videos in this series? They might be worth a watch. But overall, it's a beautiful, luxurious laid back experience of the highest degree. If you want to know more, just ask. :)

Hi, I love this but can I just check the filtered water left in your stateroom ... that's ship filtered and not bottled, right? So it is salinated during that process? We've only ever cruised Cunard (looking forward to booking our first with Viking, as Cunard has gone downhill), but their on-board drinking water causes me to bloat (I drink up to 2 litres of water a day), so I generally get a bottled water package.

Your voice is probably the nicest for any cruise video I have watched. 👍 My wife and I have never cruised. We like Viking’s offerings, but our biggest concern is food. It seems that so much effort on Viking’s part is put into the excellent food and drink, which seems to be a major attraction for most cruise goers. Possibly a significant portion of the cruise price is due to the excellent “food entertainment”. However, my wife and I are health fanatics. We don’t drink and we follow a very constrained and nutrition-focused diet and exercise regimen. We are plant-based (no animal or fish products, including no dairy). No desserts except fresh fruit. No oil, no salt, no sugar. Steamed vegetables including a wide variety of greens, grains, cruciferous veggies, squashes, sweet potatoes, cooked mushrooms, onions & garlic, hot pepper spice, fresh cooked beans (not canned), and salads. We are concerned #1 whether we will be able to be served the high quality of fancy dishes that are served to everyone else but are kept within our diet restrictions and #2 if not, will we be overpaying significantly for the cruise to be served a bowl of canned beans while everyone else is served beef Wellington, fine wines, and lavish pastry desserts? I don’t expect you to know all the answers, but some guidelines or ways for us to inquire would be helpful. Other than our food concerns everything you described and captured on video about Viking seems fantastic and very attractive! Thank you and happy cruising!!
