Two takahē live at ZEALANDIA in Wellington. These birds are rare and athreatened native species in the world. ZEALANDIA provides a unique opportunity for people to view these unusual birds in a nature habitat. They roam free within the 225 hectares of the sanctuary but are often found near the wetlands area.
