Anyone who has to deal with this or something similar. I wish you the best of luck and don’t give up to the very end. I like to think “at least I died trying” mentality.😂 You know in the face of this hardship still trying to be positive. I know how it feels the fear of an eye not being straight when looking at people, being anti social not because you don’t want to but something holding you back, feeling like you had a disadvantage in a sport not because an excuse but because you can only use one eye. And maybe not all but your parent insulting you about that eye and the random problem you had been born with not chosen to have. I know nobody understands how it feels unless they have the same painful obstacle. You can say yea I get it I understand how you feel but you don’t truly comprehend unless you have dealt with it. I just wanted to relate to everyone who’s handing a hard time with this. And just know your tough for dealing with it. I wish everyone nothing but the best. I hope everyone’s able to fix not just this but whatever problems you went through. And like I said think of it this way. “At least you tried to the very end”. Anyone reading this 😘. I got a bit of a lazy eye sometimes when I relax my eyes too much and I thought I was losing my perfect 20/20 vision at one point cuz when I was looking far away it was getting a lil blurry but I got my eyes tested and they couldn't find anything wrong and i realized I was an idiot and wasn't focusing my vision properly

I don't know on mine. I have retina detachment on my left eye. And the doctor said it was in born cause I didn't noticed that I have left eye problem it scares me

If you saw in 3D, the dimension the earth is in, LxWxH you'd be able to see a sphere all at once.

i had a medical in an airline for pilot training and they failed me for poor depth of perception, if its something that can be fixed and can get better how do doctors see it interms of such proffessions?

I haven’t done it in a long time since I was a child, when eating going for salt or pepper I’ll would mistakenly take the glass of milk and pour it into my meal. I’d never understand it for a long time. I notice now when playing certain app card games. I don’t see 3D movies correctly… 59 female, surgery at 13, didn’t really take, yes I have a dominant eye and strabismus from birth. Great at sport, baseball since grace 4 aways to corporate baseball 1st base but can never play 3rd past.. I get it now. Getting a door knob correctly I’ll basically hit part of my body on the frame of the door mostly at home, lol.

There's a difference between depth perception and stereoacuity, right? I have amblyopia in my left eye (20/100) from childhood strabismus so monocular vision only and I've always failed the stero vision tests with the fly and animals but over time I learned how to determine depth perception. It took me much longer to learn to drive but I'm a safe driver now. I understand I could never develop binocular vision but could always learn how to improve depth perception, correct?

Wouldn't orientation perception be a better term. I feel like I can still measure distance with one eye closed.

Here is the definition of stereopsis per Google (also known as depth perception). The perception of depth produced by the reception in the brain of visual stimuli from both eyes in combination; binocular vision. Monocular depth cues are the information in the retinal image that gives us information about depth and distance but can be inferred from a single retina or one eye. While depth cues can be used to judge space, it is not the same level of efficiency or 3 dimensional space as stereopsis, which requires binocularity.

Mrs I have refractive amblyopia. I am 17 and I feel like I be patching for like a week or 2 consistent and feel like I get no progress(2 hours by the way) should I still keep doing it?
